I'm not one who normally spends time tuning everythig on a car I buy (normally, I just put all the power upgrades on and leave as is ).

However, I decided to give it a go; with great results:

VW 1200 (Beetle)





Anyone who was on those Cote D'Azur 'police-120km/h' lobbies will have seen this before; especially since it overtook all those smart ass*s in their Ferraris, etc.

It's such a great car when tuned and outhandles everything else i've ever driven.

What do we think?

Anyone else had great results tuning this?

I've spend quite some time tuning, finetuning and testing the results with some other guys on this forum (we chose 515PP/Stage2 Turbo/semi-racing exhaust as a starting point), with the main aim to keep most Beetle characteristics and not just focus on getting the best laptimes at all cost.

Having said that, I did manage a 8:23-something on the Nordschleife using Sports Medium tyres (the tyres we chose for online competition) which I though wasn't that bad, with Sports Soft I managed an 8:16 but it wasn't nearly as much fun as it is using lesser tyres.

Yes! I was messing around with a couple a while back. Made one a rally car and had some fun on the various Eiger dirt tracks.

The mid rpm turbo is definitely the way to go, especially in the off-road version, though I need a better gear set up I think.
