I recently bought Street Racing Syndicate for my playstation and i have to admit, it does beat Underground. One thing that it beats Underground in is the variety of parts to use. Theres soooooo many to choose from!!!!!! One cool thing is that you can watch your car dyno to find out how much power it is making. The main thing it needs is Drag racing and i dont know wat Namco was smoking so that they would leave that out. Damage can be inflicted on cars but wat sucks is that you have to pay to fix it. Damage effects the cars performance. The car sounds are EXACTLY like the real thing....not like underground where some cars have gay engine sounds and some cars have awesome engine sounds but werent like the real thing. Nitrous last a whole lot longer but it doesnt look as cool as Underground had made it look like.

You start the game with 30g's but then subract the cost of your car....so you have some money to customize your ride. The cars to choose are about 7 and i chose the subaru impreza 2.5rs. The game has some respect challenges so that you can pick up chicks and each chick has their own video!!!!They are extremely hott also. You can also hook up with the girls(that means supposively you drive around with them). There 50 cars in total and the reason there are 50 is because they are different versions of the same car. Best car is as usual Nissan Skyline GT-R Spec V II Nur. Each car handles different based on their drivetrain: RWD, FWD. and 4WD.

The type of street mode(or career mode) is exactly like Midnight Club1 and 2.....you cruise around looking for people to race and you can cruise anywhere you want. If you go to fast and run into a cop on the way....they try to catch you but its pretty easy to outrun them. If you are caught then you have to pay a fine. There are NO cops in the sanction or street racing.

While you cruise around you can enter a sanction race which is free and there are no requirements or you can join a street gang meeting and there are
requirements. Each sanction or gang meet have 3 different categories of series...they 1st being the easiest and the 3rd being the hardest. Each series has three races and they could vary from 2 laps to 3 laps to just getting from point A to point B. You can race agaisnt 3 people or just 1 person. Each person makes a wager before each race and you can either accept their wager or just race. When you accept their wager that money gets deducted from your cash. The good thing about accepting wagers is that if you win the race and you get double wat you gave...so you get your money back and the money the guy wagered. When you win a series, you win atleast $3500 for the first of first series. The amount of money you win for a series depends on the difficulty. Racing after awhile gets alot harder. While you race in ANY type of race, if you start to drift around corners you start to get respect points and those are needed cuz that is one of the requirements for street gang races. There are street challenges which are people parked somewhere on the map waiting for you to challenge them.....every person has a different bet. Finally if your really bored then you can watch your car "cruise" around.

There are 3 cities(L.A., Miami and Philadelphia) and each race in a gang series have a variety of the three. L.A. and Philly are at night and Miami is during the day. L.A. and Philly streets are wet and Miami streets are dry.

The arcade mode is basically the same in any game. Quick race...self explanatory...checkpoint is you have a time limit to run through 10 check points on the map you choose.....iron man im not to sure cause i havent done it tooo much....time trial is also self explanatory.

Then finally there is multiplayer. It has the same types as arcade mode except you can go online and race 3 other people at the same time. If you and any of the other people have a headset, you can talk LIVE with them in the chatroom and while you race.

SRS is a great racing game with lots fun for any car enthusiast. Its soundtrack is nothing out of this world but you would swear it has only like 5 songs. Besides that....everything else is great...besides....who wants to play Underground again?(i have already played the demo for NFS Underground 2 and its the same thing as the first except with new cars and a couple of new features) This is as much as what i can explain about this racing game.
I give SRS a 8.9/10.0. 👍 👍

NOTE: SRY if i made the thread tooo long :ouch:

The theard is not to long but you may have wanted to put this in the stickied SRS theard at th top of the mave. Will a moderator please move this? Or it can be put better in the game review section. Oh yea welcome to Gtplanet Newb. Jk. Good review too.

Umm didn't you post the same thing in the SRS thread, and in the Game reviews forum? :odd:

It's not a very good game at all... The physics are slightly better than NFS:U but the graphics arent... The engine sounds are decent, and the damage modeling is decent (although the performance didn't seem to be affected at all)... The lack of parts to choose from, and the rediculously limited number of kits and vinyls made this game no more than a NFS:U knockoff with a few cheap gimicks to seperate itself from the aforementioned game...

5.5/10

;)

the hype associated with this game is more than enough to lead the sheep.

most or all of the people who enjoy this game are part of that blind herd.

Just got this game recently, i am SOOOO disappointed. At first i think it's fun to drive around the town. But then I get bored in less than 10 mins. Ok then go to the tuning shop, that's the only fun part of the game, where you can install different parts and go to dyno it. Other than this, I dont think this game can even compete with other games such as NFSU(althougth i dont like it as well). I just dont like the game play for this kind of game. The physics are too 'acrade style'.
Anyway after waiting so long for it, now i am so disappoint

I have yet to see one engine improvement on that show, it's all cosmetic and rice. Guess what? Your car still runs like ****.

I hope the people who actually buy SRS don't mistake the wonderland they see in the game with real life illegal street racing.
