Yeah honestly, I didn't like Darin right off the bat but I think for a lot of users I met via either the AIM chat or IMing my feeling about them changed.

edit: So I go to the "test forum" area since I don't look at threads that way and yes I have to say there are A LOT of useless threads including the "what do you think of the user..." thread but Why that and the AIM Chatroom?! Leave a little fun! 👎:grumpy:

This is all part of a general cleanup push. As I said on the Q&C board, this is not an attempt to get rid of certain specific members. This is just an attempt to reduce the deafening background noise that drowns out much of what is worth hearing.

In fact, I think I'll put that in my .sig.

Some form of controlled outlet for chat threads is in the works. Jordan is figuring out exactly what that should be as you read this. It will be a place where members can gather and converse, but it will NOT be allowed to become yet another pointless spam-fest.

Duke , it's not spam , I call it for having a little fun if you are bored , and now I'm bored , nothing to do , my favorite threads are closed in the test forum... ;(

Then find some other place among the millions of less-moderated or un-moderated places on the 'net. There is no shortage of forums like that, and there is equally no reason to make this place into yet another one.

If you are bored, do something constructive instead of simply trying to kill time. Compile some useful information and publish it. Answer a n00b question with a little information and some direction on how to help themselves next time. Go out and play a sport. Try to get a fast laptime for submission at one of the record-keeping sites.

I've seen them , and I hate them...they aren't so funny :/
 Well, go and create your own forum and you can make the rules. Or go and play GT3. You know, that console game thing that you may have heard of.

You obviously haven't been here that long.

Josh, Punkrock, myself, we've all seen that sort of thing, and worse.

Just ask em.

Oi! Must you forget me you crazy crazy person :nervous:

Seriously though conflict is a part of human nature and if one cannot deal with it then so be it. If there is a problem in the forums you tell a mod who is online and they will deal with either by closing a thread, deleteing posts, whatever they have to do they will do. I for one havent been around that much lately but I've been here long enough to know the people who are just and think out what they put into their posts. Most people dont, they will just type some random crap to try and get on peoples nerves and thats when someone tells a mod about it.......i cant type anymore.

...which has very little to do with the topic at hand; which is that people should do something besides come here and babble pointlessly when they can't think of anything better to do.

duke - listening to The Howard Stern radio show this morning, ( and no, you cannot pigeon hole his listeners into the 18-45 year old slot that are uneducated and underqualified to dig a ditch ) anyway, his new bulletin board has been bombarded with SPAM'rs and people that make it impossible for other "newbies" to joint and learn anything about the radio show, or speak intelligently about anything. so they leave right away...and he is now talk ing about getting moderators to "take out the trash" at first i thought, well, this is totaly against his views on free speach blah blah blah, but he made a very good point. He is offering a free service to fans of the show, and a place to talk about the show, not for joepostwhore to come in, get 1000 psts a day and make fun of people...it people doing this is making the real fans turn away. I was a post whore....and now I am born again..

Prove it....leave for a week, and don't make a post about it,

I've always been one for cleanig up this place, but nearly 3 years later, nobody's awarded me the moderator status. It doesn't matter...So I'll just do what you're supposed to around here: Post something useful, or witty, or thoughtful, or amazing, or just click the back button on your browser and move on if you have nothing to contribute.

It's quite possible to read a thread without feeling the need to post in it. Try it sometime.

Thats the thing some people have nothing better to do than sit in front of their computer and thinking about, what topic will generate the most reply's.

Like seriously have the threads in the Rumble Stripe are pointless, THINK before you post garbage.

Oh so very true on the last point.

Why all mods so ****ed up?

Because they're tired of people like you posting irrelevant crap all over the place. We dont want to read it, and your post count means diddly squat, so why say something if you're not saying anything at all?

From the way that's written, we could infer that it started going down hill when you arrived.

Now that we're on the new server, Jordan is re-writing the AUP and TOS. As soon as that is posted, this little down turn in the rumble strip will change.

I guarantee it.

AO

that was rude...... j/k. but it was junked-up WHEN I arrived, not after. 👍

Well I for one am looking forward to a clean-up. Like I said last time I posted, stopping the spam threads will get rid of the mood that people get in when posting in the Test-Forum.

I'll add to that. It's quite possible that if you need to post, post something relevant. I hate it when people reply:
and nothing else.

This clean-up is long overdue.

I hate it to when people post one word thingies. Maybe jordanshould put the 10 word thingie back.
I think he should. Why did he take it down? If it was because of the "Word Association Thread" or something, then I don't think that will survive if it hasn't already been closed. It also brings back the fact that more people will post meaningful posts.

Ya that was extremely frustrating while we had that, but most of my posts are more than 10 characters, so no ''biggie'' :)
