My thoughts on DLC...

I know what has been 'officially' announced, and what has been speculation, but here is my take on it...

There will be no major new events. If people have already completed the game 100%, then how pissed will they be that they now have to do even more events, just to keep it at 100%.

Platinum trophies. All these people who have platinum'ed the game. There will be no extra trophies to collect, so there wont be any major changes IMO

Standard - Premium cars... While I would love this to happen, I dont think it will. The NCD is already set out with Premuims for sale. I cant see it happening, personally... I doubt there will be any significant amount of new cars added also...


What I DO think will happen though, is C-Spec. Its not been widely discussed, but speculated a lot. On the GT5 homepage, where you can choose between GT and Arcade mode etc, occasionally, there is a white screen with cars (or dots, I forget) driving around what looks to be be real roads and buildings... We have all the cars being shown off in arty locations, as well as in the garage. We also have Bob walking through all the race suits and helmets...



This is not intended to troll, or annoy or agravate anyone. Nor is it to turn into (another!) DLC wishlist. I would just like peoples opinions on the above, as it makes sense to me, but possibly not to anyone else!

Well...here is what I think. I dont believe the standards will go away, but I do believe PD will phase in "new" converted premiums. I say this because they did the same in GT5P as they were making GT5. They will be in the works on GT6 if they are not already...which means they will have new models to input into GT5. I also think new cars (debuted after GT5 launch date) will be paid for in DLC, that is, if they get into that area of gaming sales.

Never really thought about that...honestly never understood what the white screen with the white buildings and dots had to do with...interesting. I dont know what you and others mean by C spec, does that mean free roam?

Yes, free roam. Dont know what the location would be, however. Would have to presume it would be somewhere in Japan if anywhere...

Same idea as Midtown Madness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX5ybOI-804&feature=related) only with better graphics and physics etc :)
 
"C-spec" will never happen.
If DLC ever comes out it'll come with it's own set of trophies.
But I really doubt DLC will ever come out on GT5, can't say I care though.

I don't think there will be anyone that likes GT enough to play the game until they hit 100%...and then be pissed more game is offered. :p

I think if we get DLC it will be more straight forward like tracks and cars.
 
I believe the cars driving around thing was some sort of Honda CR-Z advert. I think DLC may come in the way of those track icons somebody found. Cars? Maybe, like the new M5 or something. C-Spec though? If at all, look to see it in GT6.
 
I don't see this whole "free roam" thing happening, at least not in GT5. IMO I think if we ever do get DLC it will be something simple like new cars and tracks. Although I also think it's possible that there might be more bodykit options and things along that line, only time will tell. It would be nice to have a virtual garage and just admire your cars. :)

To be honest...I really hope PD doesnt incorperate Cspec into any GT game, ever. I think it would lose whats special about the series. Personally, I dont play these games (gt series) for free roam and stuff, I play these games for racing. If I want to go drive around in a city, Ill play GTA4 or Driver. If i want to race in a city, I will go play Burnout or NFS. If I want to play a true racing game, Ill play GT. Of course...thats just me.:)
