It’s a setup that’s been beaten to death over and over. However, I’m new and thought some may like this version better.
I too did the rubber pad upgrade to the brake pedal but the pedals in general didn’t feel even close to realistic even with the pad mod.
I’m sure there’s similar versions of mine but yet to see it. Now all my measurements will be in “standard” as you all know us Americans do it asssss-backwards here in the states .
Materials needed:
1-hot glue gun
2-main springs roughly
Length: 1.420” or roughly 36mm
Width : .650” or roughly 16-17mm
4- rubber grommets
I.D: 3/8”
Recess area: 1/2”
O.D: 5/8”
1- spring... add different size and tension springs as needed that will fit inside the main brake spring.
For the throttle/Accelerator pedal, i used no internal spring but just the main spring alone with a rubber grommet on either end to help with noise and a smoother feel.
Same goes for the brake pedal, however, I added an internal spring to the main for more resistance/tension. Doing it this way thus far has replicated the closes I’ve felt so far to a real life brake pedal. Add or remove internal springs to achieve what feels best for you.... once tension is desired, use the hot glue gun to glue both spring packs to the base.
Also, you may need to adjust or recalibrate your pedals sensors as I did and be patient. It took a couple try’s before I could get it perfect.
