My Truck + Concrete filled pole = no fun at all.

Heh, my truck's engine died yesterday, and to make a long story short, the truck ran in to a concrete filled pole.

Needs a new fender, grill, front bumper, and a complete headlight assembly. And a new altenator/battery, to combat the orginal problem.

Heh, on the bright side i didnt have to pay tax on the replacement part:D
 
Wipe that grin of your face! You ran into a pole for Christ's sake! :D

So... did that pole just jump out in front of you?

No, i wish it had though:)

I lost the engine, and i coasted in to a gas station. no power brakes or streering, and i just couldn't push the brake pedal fast enough. i was only going like 5mph, but concrete filled poles don't give very much.
 
Ouch. Is the insurance covering the damages or just doing a payoff? You do have insurance right? Full coverage or plpd?
 
I'm paying for it, out of pocket. it'll be cheaper in the long run.

Anyways it was only $250 to replace the grill, bumper and fender. I now just have to find a headlight assembly.
 
Heh - I remember seeing a similar thing many years ago, where an old guy came into the car park of the local shops to buy the paper. He stalled the engine as he came into his park, and couldn't pull his car up - he hit the hairdressers. It all happened at about 10 kmh, it was pretty funny.

Bummer for you, though, Space. I remember pulling a lateral muscle a few years ago when the power steering belt came of my old Magna (think Mitsubishi Sigma, but a bit bigger) and I had to wrench the steering to get around a corner before pulling her up.
 
that sucks.

i had car troubles too recently, my radaitor is completly roted out from the bottom up almost 4 inches. it finally gave out friday night. now i need a new one and since i have the si motor the radiator is diffirent than the normal ones. meaning i mite have to buy one from the dealor and that is going to cost alot of money.

Diamante, Galant, Carisma, Sigma, Magma, Pajero, Montero, Shogun, Shogun Sport, Montero Sport, Eclipse, FTO, Lancer, Mirage.... WHY DON'T THEY JUST USE THE SAME ****IN' NAME?!

MagNa - not Magma. Magma is hot and molten, and the use of any word implying heat would be quite misleading.

Your Diamante is the upmarket version of the current Magna, but that is a good deal bigger than my old battle wagon. Pictured is a partcularly poor example of the model (note the crappy aftermarket wheel trims).

Typo! I type 'magma' relatively frequently (more than 'magna'), and I must've done it again, not quite coherent at the time.

Did you know the Diamante is the only car for sale in the United States that is built in Australia? Strange considering Australians don't even get a shot at buying the car.

Ahh - not so. It's called the Verada here (giving rise to the old 'Veranda - designed to compete with Porch' gag).

Does it sell? It's not much of a sales champion in the US - it gets absolutely clobbered on resale and there's much better cars (Millenia, Maxima) in its class.
