So this weekend i got the idea to build a center console for my rig and just wanted to share with you guys what i have gotten done thus far.

there's a 75 percent chance that this is the greatest thing I've ever seen that is useable with an xbox 360.

wait, is that a frex sequential?

scratch that, 90 percent.

I too saw this at the iRacing forum, too bad the Elite wheel never shipped with this rim.
I have the same shifter, I love it.

So the way you have the sequential wired into the wheel, does that mean it works in console games as well? Pretty cool.

Yes works in console games as well. It uses 2 tactile switches like in fanatec sequential exert it cones with a button PCB I just clipped the wires and connected to a ps2 cable

The button box below the Elite buttons you have in your console looks to have elements of a DS button box or is this something you made as well? Either way it's an awesome console.

Wow fantastic. Is there any possibility of doing a picture tutorial on switching wheel rims and how to connect to panel? Awesome man.

Definitely a home made box. If you look close you'll see several controls from the original wheel rim as well as a picture of what appears to be the PCB from the wheel rim inside the box.

Did nobody notice the different rim in the last picture yet? :sly:

I have 2 different wheel rims and a third coming later in the week tht I bought. A nrg gt style wheel. Also have a sli pro coming

Its all diy. I try to build everything myself if I can.

Thanks Tim, I wasn't sure if there were DSD elements or just your work there.

Did I read somewhere that you were going to publish your work about the Rim mod that you have done for the Elite wheel? I would be interested in your mod.

I think he is working with Derek Speare to create a mass production adapter for the wheel, as it is quite a simple modification to create the adapter and bolt on a new wheel. Doing all the wiring stuff shouldn't be difficult either, but making it look as clean as he has will be the real challenge.

With new wheel rims on the way from Fanatec, I'm not sure how long this mod will be popular, but for now it's an excellent option for people who don't like the stock wheel.

It's a great option for people that want there own unique wheel.

That I can agree with, but what I am saying is with the work involved, some people may not want to disassemble the stock wheel and relocate the screen, buttons, and other electronics when for about $150 you can just buy a wheel from Fanatec.

A good wheel will cost you at least $150 on it's own, unless you go for knockoff wheels (which is a perfectly good option if you want to go that route).

I completely understand, all I'm saying is I don't think we will see it quite as much as we see people modding G25/27's.

I really don't like the wheel that shipped with the Elite, not sure when Fanatec will have replacements and even if they are any better then what's on it now. I dislike the wheel that's on it right now so I am only using my T500 now.

I hear ya I didn't like the feel of it at all. It would creak when i would grip the left side alcantera. So first thing I did was bought a quick release and some acetal plastic to make an adapter plate like chilicoke.

Hey Is that a Spec D wheel? How is it? does it bend easily?
Also is it a 70mm PCD? would be nice if you respond :)
