Okay... so I have a random blank icon in my system tray. There is a clearly defined icon's-width space between my Skype icon and the Java icon, with nothing in it.

Upon startup it appears (eventually), with a nice, empty yellow message bubble, then settles down to be invisible.

On opening my "Customise Notifications" menu, it correlates with an item showing an open-folder icon with the name "<no title>", set to Always Display.

I've run a full virus (AVG), spyware (Lavasoft) and rootkit (AVG) scan, and nothing has turned up. This issue didn't exist before I left my computer for a week, so I have done nothing in the meantime to precipitate it.

Hay-ulp! Hay-ulp!

MS config -> Start up and disable it from loading when the computer boots. That would keep it from being there.

What it actually is, I have no clue. Find the related files above using MSconfig, and delete THEM :p

Thats probably what I would do anyhow. Odd, I am giving Famine a suggestion (whats for world to end)

I was worried when I saw this thread too.

Perhaps download CCleaner before doing that and use the startup tool. It works better than MSConfig by actually deleting the registry entry, and you'll be able to see a little more info about it.

I had that too. I got rid of it but can't really remember how....

I think it had something to do with Java, but don't quote me on that.
