In COD zombie mode, theres a box which gives you random weapons for a set price. Would it be good if there was something like this in GT5?

E.G
If you paid 250,000 every time you used it, it give you a random car from 250,000 onwards, if you paid 1 million, then it gives random cars from 1 million above. To stop this being abused, it would be like the trading restrictions, once per day, so you cant use a back up save to try again. ( yes i know about duping which lets you keep the car, but you trade again though, which is what i mean,) so if you tried to use a back up save, yes you still have your money, but the daily amount would be used up and it wouldn't work.

Great idea, but it would need to include rubbish cars or there is no surprise!

Do you gamble or not?

You explained the principal of the Mystery Box in the wrong way.

In COD you pay a fixed amount of credits and you receive a weapon which is worth much more, nearly the same or much less.

That's called gambling. If this idea would be realized as you said it you could just "buy" a mystery car for 10k bucks and you could receive one worth 20 mln, which would be great, however highly unlikely because it would entirely kill the trading which still exists.

If you asume that all the cars are worth about 490 mln (rounding to 500 mln to make demonstration easier) and divide it by the 1000 something cars (rounding to 1000 again to make it easier) you get an average car worth of 500k.

So pay 500k and receive one car, no matter if it's a used car for 2 000 credits or a 20 mln car.

Also to stop the abusiveness of this I would make it an online feature with (same as trading) one try per day.

I would enjoy this feature very much with the 500k per try and one try per day.

I didn't explain the weapon box wrong, i suggested a different way of implementing it into GT5. In COD the odds are stacked for guns worth more than 950 credits than under, in GT5, the odds would mean you are much much more likely to get the under valued cars than the expensive ones, which could make it more interesting, but it would be slightly unfair. having it as i said would make it better, or even if you paid 1 million, you would get cars of that value +- what you spent, so if you paid 1 million, you would get a car from 0 credits to 2 million credits. the only problem with that method is that anything more than 10 million, the odds are starting to stack towards getting a cheaper car, but even so there are more cars under 10 million than above 10 million.

Sorry I thought you explained the original version in COD, my fault.

Do you think PD would implement something like this? or will COD just sue them for plagiarising? :ouch:

I think it's called "Trading with complete strangers late weekend nights at the Top Gear Test Track".

It wouldn't be a copyright problem. I mean, perhaps they would need to pick a different name, but the concept is general. A lottery?

On the other hand, no PD won't implement anything like this. It's a cool idea, so long as it's truly a gamble between getting a Panda or a MarkIV for your .5 million.

However, I would change it. My lottery would be for winning a one make race with no aids, where you have some kind of penalty (like ballast). Just enough to where it's pretty hard to win, but not impossible. You can only win once a day, but if you do, you get a prize car, chosen randomly. And there is an entry fee (not .5 million, but more like 100k)
