I've decided to use the classic JPS Lotus black and gold as my team name for online racing, and my avatar is indeed this car. However I am aware that JPS is John Player Special, a cigarette brand. Does it in anyway infringe the AUP by having an avatar like mine with JPS on it in clear view? And does using that name infringe it at all? It's not perceived as actual promotion of tobacco and cigarettes is it?

Not that I can tell.

No, it is a trademarked name, so only if the brand or GTPlanet took offense to the way you were using their logo, would we have reason to remove it. So far, there hasn't been a single instance of the first scenario occurring during the history of our site.

No. A logo isn't putting a cigarette into anyone's mouth; however, the server and GTPlanet are based in the United States, whereby an image as such does not violate the gaps between free speech, artistic license, copyright, and GTPlanet's Acceptable Use Policy. Laws may be different from location to location, country to country, so abide by your local laws if they are indeed stronger than that of GTPlanet's.

So, it's okay.
