The Nardo Ring is a high speed test track located 20KM north of Nardo, Italy. The track is 8 Miles long and is over 16 metres wide. The Koenigsegg CCR held the world speed record for production cars, hitting 242MPH at the Nardo Ring. This has since been beaten by the Bugatti Veyron, hitting 253MPH at Ehra-Lessien (VW's top secret test track in Germany). The track was featured in Top Gear, when 3 supercars were taken to the ring to see which car could get closest to it's claimed top speed. During regular weekly working activity the maximum speed allowed on the circular track is 240 km/h (149 mph). Higher speeds are only allowed at times when a client gets the track for its exclusive use. The track also features a handling circuit. Both of which are visible from space. Porsche bought the Nardo Ring in 2012 and renamed it to be the Nardò Technical Center.
