NASCAR 90's Series
This idea came to me when I watched NASCAR races from the 90's online, and it made me think, "Why can't I make this kind of series on GT5?"
This series will use fully tuned '98 Ford Taurus SHO cars, and will have teams from NASCAR in the late 90's. Though I was tempted to allow each driver to choose his own car colors/driver, I seek an authentic feeling to this series. Sorry guys, but I think we should have one "real" season, followed by seasons with customization.
I am currently working on a schedule for this series. Though the races will retain their real names, the lengths of the races will be cut down so races do not last from 2-4 hours, instead being around 1 hour or less.
Here is the schedule, which is not currently final:
1. Daytona 500 (Superspeedway - Daytona, 50 laps)
2. TranSouth Financial 400 (Super Speedway - Twin Ring Motegi, 84 laps)
3. Goody's Body Pain 500 (Twin Ring Motegi - West Course, 90 laps)
4. DieHard 500 (Special Stage Route X, 4 laps)
5. Save Mart/Kragen 350 (Twin Ring Motegi - East Course, 23 laps)
6. Pepsi 400 (Superspeedway - Daytona, 40 laps)
7. Brickyard 400 (Superspeedway - Indy, 40 laps)
8. Frontier at the Glen (Grand Valley East - 18 laps)
9. Pepsi Southern 500 (Super Speedway - Twin Ring Motegi, 98 laps)
10. NAPA Autocare 500 (Twin Ring Motegi - West Course, 90 laps)
11. Winston 500 (Special Stage Route X, 4 laps)
12. NAPA 500 (Superspeedway - Indy, 50 laps)
The teams will be based off of those that competed in the Winston Cup in 1999. As well as "teams" (who host multiple cars), there are reserve spots that are used for those who could not make it onto a team, but want to race. These reserves will be allowed to drive any time that there are any open spots for a race. They will not be competing for team/owner's points.
The teams are:
TEAMS

Hendrick Motorsports:
1 - #5 Terry Labonte - Yellow/Red
2 - #24 Jeff Gordon - Red/Cyan
Joe Gibbs Racing:
3 - #18 Bobby Labonte - Green/Red
