Ok, I have all golds in NASCAR except 2 laps Daytona race.. I tried it 3 times and I'm far away from 1st place... Indianapolis was peace of cake because you can brake late in corners and I won it in my 2nd attempt, but to be honest I'm not really big NASCAR fan and I just want to win that last race...
So please give me some tips :nervous:

LOL yeah they are all correct, turning off ABS completely made all the difference, couldn't believe it. Wasted an hour before reading the forums to find that out!!! argh

Turn off ABS even if you don't brake. ABS is part of ASM, and you can't turn off ASM, but if you turn off ABS you disable ASM.

No ABS = No ASM = Win!

ASM is a huge speed sink, especially at Daytona. You should always have it off if you can control the car without it.

For Daytona, especially in NASCAR vehicles, the key is drafting. No one car is better than the others, in theory. Don't try to drive away from the pack, just stay put inside of it. If necessarily, get on the back bumper of an A.I. and "bump draft." Effectively, you're pushing them down the straight. You can also push them through the corner, which will slow you down slightly, but the A.I. will go faster and you'll have a drafting partner down the next straight as well.

You don't need to turn off ABS to turn off ASM

Once the race starts just use the Function Adjust to switch it off (easily done using a DFGT or just assign a few buttons using the DS3)

Must be a bug that won't let you switch it off pre-race but lets you do it from the Multi-Function adjuster.

Yes, I also read that you can adjust it mid-race, but for some reason I couldn't do it... The adjustment-box popped up, but it was and stayed gray.

i actually just beat that part. was the hardest for me to. when you start out. dont follow jimmie even though he is off faster at the start. follow the guy on the left and just bump draft for like a lap. yull get up there. that how i did it. it might take a couple tries depending on how fast both pf you are drafting at. but you usually pass cars to get up into a silver trophy around the last turn. from being a nascar fan for a while. daytona outside line is faster. easier to pass in inside line but faster to pass on outside line
