Before you flame me with "Wrong section" replies, just hear me out.
I liked NASCAR: Heat and NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona.
Those games weren't about all of the drivers, just great gameplay and pretty good graphics for 7+ year old games. I still play Dirt to Daytona occasionaly.
Second, the EA games...I said it. They were good for a while.
From NASCAR 99 to NASCAR 06, those games were pretty good. Then the newer ones came in and they sucked. The only reason I played any of them was I was bored one summer night.
Third, GT5.
I haven't had the chance to play GT5, yet. I don't know if they'll have 43 car races, which they probably won't. But I really hope that the liscense will last longer than just this game. Imagine 43 car races on GT(Probably 7) on the PS(Probably 4), in 3D, pileing up in a turn. Debris flying past your face, sounds scratching against your ears, the graphics melting into your eyes.
I hope that NASCAR 2011, by Activision, would combine elements of all 3 games. The graphics of Gran Turismo, at least good, the customization of the EA games (create a car, create a driver), and the depth of the NASCAR Heat games. If it can be like this, maybe we'll have a NASCAR game worthy of being a yearly buy.
Here's the trailer for NASCAR 2011 by Activision, due out next year.
