I never had seen a NASCAR Japan Series on here which involves the NASCAR vehicles in the game racing on tracks that are in Japan, including the Special Stage tracks as well as Tokyo R246. It's a good idea, so why not have one? Here is what I have come up with so far:

We will only run on tracks that are in Japan, whether they be fictional or real. So instead of the normal Daytona and Indy races, we will race on Twin Ring Motegi (if it is released as DLC) and Suzuka and other Japanese circuits.

There will be 5 teams, each with 3 cars. However, there is an independent car available for those who want to race, even if they aren't signed up. There may only be one independent driver at a time, and they must have the #20 Gamestop car (which was obtained through pre-ordering a copy of GT5 from Gamestop). The teams are:

Hendrick Motorsports: #24 (2010), #24 (2011), #48.
Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing: #14, #42, #88.
Ford Racing #43 (2010), #43 (2011), #99.
Joe Gibbs Racing: #11, #18, #20.
Red Bull Racing: #83 (2010), #83 (2011), #83 (any variation).
Independent: #20 (Gamestop).

Each team (except for Independent) will run for the owner's championship. The owner may or may not be a driver in the series. There may only be one of the same car on the track at once.

The schedule will, of course, consist of tracks from across Japan. I had planned this schedule:

1. Fuji Speedway F (35 laps + 1 pace lap)
2. Tsukuba Circuit (79 laps + 1 pace lap)
3. Tokyo R246 (32 laps + 1 pace lap)
4. Special Stage Route 5 (40 laps + 1 pace lap)
5. Fuji Speedway GT (35 laps + 1 pace lap)
6. Twin Ring Motegi - West (115 laps + 1 pace lap)
7. Special Stage Route 7 (7 laps + 1 pace lap, tire wear/fuel consumption off)
8. Tokyo R246 - Reverse (32 laps + 1 pace lap)
9. Suzuka - East (72 laps + 1 pace lap)
10. Special Stage Route X (5 laps)
11. Suzuka Circuit (28 laps)
12. Twin Ring Motegi - Super Speedway (194 lap enduro)

Most races will be run at 100 miles, with pace laps run in the 9 races before the final trio of races. Suzuka will be the only road course started from a grid start. Some tracks will also have their own tire and power restriction.

The final race at Twin Ring Motegi - Super Speedway will be a 300 mile enduro, the Coca-Cola 300.

There will not be "qualifying", only practice. If you start in last place despite having the best car, tough luck. Maybe you will start on the pole next time.

When racing, please drive as clean as you possibly can and be courteous to your fellow drivers. Stay behind the car in front of you unless you know you can pass, and don't try to ram other drivers off of the track.

Anybody interested in the NASCAR Japan Series? Any things that should be changed?

I like the series, but it may be hard to get enough participants with all the other NASCAR series going on.

If you get enough participation, when are you thinking of running it?

If it is at the right time, I would definitely run this in the 2010 Jeff Gordon car.

This, pretty much.

Nice schedule though, would probably swap a Fuji race for another Motegi oval round considering that there's only one different corner between the F and GT layouts of Fuji 👍

I might hold this series on Saturdays after the GTP Sprint Cup or GTP Nationwide Series finishes up their races. The former would be a later race but allow more people to come, though the latter would be earlier but conflicting with the Sprint Cup.

I might swap Fuji F as the chicane seems to do nothing but slow the race down.

As well, I was thinking about shortening the races. Think of it this way, lap times on Fuji GT would be around 1:30.xxx or longer. With a race there being 35 laps long, the race would take around an hour long due to pit stops. If I were to cut around 5-10 laps from the race, it would only take 45-50 minutes, being 10-15 minutes shorter. The Coca-Cola 300 would remain the same, however, as it is intentionally supposed to be an enduro.

More thoughts, ideas?

I think every NASCAR series should include Fuji, since it was originally intended to be a 2.5 mile Super Speedway used for NASCAR Japan back in the 60s. They only finished one side of banking before they ran out of funds and it was instead finished as a road course. In the 60s and 70s they used the banking as the first turn, before the first turn hairpin cut off the banked section.

Some people have pointed out that High Speed Ring's layout is a close mirror image of Fuji, it is most likely a spiritual successor to the old Fuji used because they could not get the license for Fuji Speedway back in Gran Turismo 1

GT Fuji would be cool yes, replacing the F race with a 2nd Motegi oval.

Also, a suggestion from me is keep the race distances down to 45ish minutes everywhere except a couple of endurance races. Obviously the 300 miler at Motegi you describe, maybe with a couple of road enduros?

EDIT: Sundays perhaps? Not a whole lot going on during early Sunday afternoons EST, about 12-1ish your time.

1. Fuji Speedway GT (25 laps + 1 pace lap)
2. Tsukuba Circuit (40 laps + 1 pace lap)
3. Tokyo R246 (22 laps + 1 pace lap)
4. Special Stage Route 5 (30 laps + 1 pace lap)
5. Twin Ring Motegi - Super Speedway (70 laps)
6. Twin Ring Motegi - West (74 laps + 1 pace lap)
7. Special Stage Route 7 (7 laps + 1 pace lap, tire wear/fuel consumption off)
8. Tokyo R246 - Reverse (32 laps + 1 pace lap)
9. NASCAR Thunder 100 (Suzuka - East, 125 laps + 1 pace lap)
10. Special Stage Route X (6 laps)
11. Suzuka Circuit (22 laps)
12. Coca-Cola 500km (Twin Ring Motegi - Super Speedway, 200 lap enduro)

How does this schedule sound? We have two endurance races, one on a road course and the other on an oval, and shorter races for the other events.

Quite a lengthy season and with the Nationwide, euroRacecar, Thunder, Vintage Nascar and Sprint Cup Series running and Trucks to come, its difficult to find a niche for this.

Nonetheless, don't shelve it. Find a nice slot for everyone and we may be in business.
