Nascar on Daytona?

I love the Nascar championchip. i won it easly and fair. I won Indiana, Grand Valley, High Speed Ring, Laguna Seca. But i can't win on Daytona.

First of all very often the AI hit me i can't control the car and simply crashes. and i end on 12th place. when they don't hit me i still can't win becaus in this race the IA seem te have more speed/PK. they can accelerate much faster after te corners. no matter how good i take te corner. i don't have the speed. i only can keep up if i can slipstream but not enough to overtake.

its strange my B-spec driver won it easly and i can't. its usual vice-versa.:sick:
 
use racing soft, turn off EVERYTHING, ABS, skid recover, AVS etc...
lower your car to the max, default transmission.
if you think this is hard, u should try it in b-spec ;o
 
Set ABS to 0 (zero) 👍
This will disable the 'Active Stability Management (ASM)' - which is normally grayed out - and make the car go faster in the turns.

... or was this the case with the Jeff Gordon Challenge..Can't remenber :scared:

All driving aids are always off. i can try lower my car though. but i doubt it will be enough. i give it a try.
 
I have tried this race about a dozen times and always finished last night , this has been thanks to the AI taking me out , i'm sure a couple of times it's been my fault but more often than that it's been the AI , doesn't matter what line i take , even if i give them a ton of room , at least one car will follow and take me out:grumpy:
 
I think the key is to stay in the pack and try to get a good slipstream on the last lap to steal the win.

This (except for the lowering), you won´t really need the brakes anyway, as for B-spec, turn the brakes off except for the rear (or front, can´t remember which) brakes set at 1 (to stop him from braking before corners), set the topspeed at max and default downforce settings.
Tell your B-spec monkey to overtake and when he´s in the lead speed up in corners instead of the straights, that´s how I finally beat it.
Not sure which set up I used for A-spec, can´t be much different except for the brakes.
 
I was having trouble with this one too, because when you get out front you have no drafting help and get hung out to dry and I would always get wrecked because I was having to block the other cars. After trying it a few times, I decided to pull a Jimmie Johnson, so I just kept pace with the pack running in 12th place until 3 laps to go, and then I made my move, got to the front in 2 laps (cleanly), and had to block a little on the last lap going into turn 3.
 
I feel your pain brother! It took me forever to win the
this particular race, but here's the strategy. You need
to slipstream yourself into 2nd place by the 9th lap, and
then on turn 3 of the 10th lap finally pass the lead car
and block the others on the last turn. Set your gear ratio
up so you can go around 220-230mph, and lower the car
with significant down force. Good luck on getting gold,
but by the 7th lap the cars kind of fall into order and you
won't have to worry about getting whipped out as much.
Try not to give up the low side line or left lane during the entire race.
 
All aids off, soft tires, drop max speed to the high 220's, go with less downforce for more top speed. Stay on the bottom line, should be able to draft to the front and stay there. Yes you will bump off the rev limiter in the draft. They will catch up just before turn 3 and bump you through turns 3 & 4 at top speed, they will slow down then take another lap to catch you and bump you again. Thats what worked for me.
 
Do what the pros do, choose a drafting partner and stay behind them, even if it comes to hitting them. Also, as others have said, all aids OFF. Last, but certainly not least, set the transmission for 242 mph. Oh, and keep your foot on the floor under any and all circumstances. Hope this helps.
 
What I did was get my cup car up to 890hp then put the ride height up to 10/8 then put all the shocks and sway bars to 0. Then adjust the gear to 242 and get out front as quick as possible. When you get to the lead, stay on the yellow line and they won't get a run on you.
 
I keep reading on here people having trouble with that Daytona race. I could easily see why but I guess I consider myself lucky that the 2 times I ran it I won, although it wasn't a breeze. I think a part as to what helped is I'm a fan of NASCAR and understand the dynamic and style. To anyone having trouble still, do a lot of drafting and as previously stated find a "partner" to do with. The back straightaway is a good time to make passes and try and stay low in the turns. Once in the lead do your best at blocking by using your mirror as I found the AI is hesitant to pass if you have them blocked 100%.
