I have always particularly enjoyed NASCAR at Infineon, Watkins Glen, and the like. I think a series based solely off of road courses would actually gain tremendous popularity from people who, for example, watch Rolex Sports Car Series, ALMS, and Speed World Challenge. Also, what about an international NASCAR-sanctioned road racing series? Or am I thinking too radical? :sly:

I don't think any of this is impossible. Look, just get a NASCAR series going that has similar cars, but maybe different manufacturers. I could actually see an Audi A8 as a stock car! :)

Anyways, what do you think? And also, should we add more road races to Sprint Cup, Nationwide, or Truck series? Should we have at least one in the chase.

My opinion... at least one road race in the chase, if not more. I say 18 oval races, 18 road races, rendering it completely even. I'd like to see NASCAR return to Road Atlanta and Portland. Also, I'd like to see Mosport, Laguna Seca, Barber Motorsports Park, Circuit of the Americas, VIR, Long Beach, Detroit (Belle Isle), Mid-Ohio, and a return to Mexico City. What about you all?

Vote, discuss, and banter (in a civilized manner, please). :sly:

Don't make it a 50/50 split. Have slightly more ovals because that is what NASCAR is.
But it is always fun to watch them at road courses because they are beating and banging and the cars are sliding around. It's great to watch them dance around on the road tracks.
EDIT: And bring the Sprint Cup to Canada. Mosport would be awesome.

I don't know that I would want lots more, but switching the 2 Nationwide only races at Road America and Montreal for Cup races there as well as 2-3 more(New Jersey, Road Atlanta and Mid Ohio would be awesome) would make for a great mix in my view.

Only add 1 more. A race at Road America would be fine.

I would like to see racing at more road courses, as people always complain NASCAR drivers don't know what a right turn is and don't believe me when I tell them they race road courses. Also, road races are pretty interesting to me and could attract fans from other road racing series' such as Grand Am (Which I already know is a NASCAR owned series)and ALMS.

I'd say add one, maybe two more. Road America would be nice. They won't add any more than that because mainly of the spectator aspect. There is alot less attendance for road races since they just aren't able to put as many seats as they can for the ovals. And ovals is what NASCAR is about. Some people don't like it and don't understand it, but it's more than going in circles. The forces acting on the cars and racing at close quarters have gained a certain fanbase. The millions of fans that attend every year must like it, so to change it to half and half or close to that wouldn't be a smart move at all. I love watching road racing, such as GT, DTM, etc. But I also enjoy the oval racing that NASCAR brings. Different types of racing all together.

I don't think adding more road courses is the right move. Most NASCAR fans hate the two that's already on the Sprint Cup schedule. Sure, not all hate them, but most seem to. I'd figure the better option would be to remove the two that are on the Cup schedule and instead have a separate NASCAR series that's all road courses.

The problem here would be that it would be another road racing series along next to Grand-Am and ALMS, and there isn't that much interest in road racing series in the US. While some NASCAR fans are interested in motorsports beyond NASCAR, including various road-racing series like F1, I would expect the vast majority to have absolutely no interest in a NASCAR road course series, so I don't see it really taking off.

I see Grand Am as a NASCAR road racing series

I'm sorry, but I've gotta say that it's hard for me to take posts seriously when they're next to Danica's pouty face.
