just got half the stars in the IA thing so i decided to enter the nascar races with the nascar it give you. on lap 2, corner 2 EVERY TIME i get spun out by some stupid AI who has no awareness of the fact that i might be there. is there;
A: any way to help this?
B: any way to make my car corner faster or something so that they never catch up to me in the first place? thanks.

3:53 in the morning or middle of the night...and about to start those Nascar races from IA...

I´ll update this post with my impressions.

Edit: Ended the first race at Daytona...7th... with my G27.

The handling is not the problem in the car...but after the reduction of the power it feels underpowered...you don´t say!!

The problem in this game is the AI and the inertia, I lost the race because the AI hit me once.
I had to recover the car from a spin and then had to catch the 2nd group.

Hardly had to move my wheel to turn at 297km/h more or less...keeping the gas not fully pressed as well. Then need to use slipstream to pass the cars.

Is not hard but the AI is like a TRAIN, if you hit them...they barely move and you go away like feather in the wind.

I´ll try it again and see what happens...I was winning till they reached me and hit my a**.

I´ll re-edit with the results and maybe touch something in the aero part.

Edit 2: After 4 tries...I won Daytona by 0:00.066. It is hard but you can win if you try to hold your line...

I did this: First lap, passed all the cars, 2nd and 3rd lap I used the upper part of the road and the AI pushed me a little but they were at my back.

At 4th lap all AI´s passed me and I just kept calm and went back to the slipstream, then using the inside I came up till the 1st place again and hold it in the inner side of the road till the end.
Also check that the AI is not using slipstream on you because they are going to use the mid part of the road.

There is no trick here...is a little bit of balls and knowing when and where to move your car.

Quite realistic in my opinion...a little bit tricky...is not easy.

Edit 3: First try at Willow Springs and won easily. The AI is so slow in corners...

It is aggravating but not impossible you just have to hold it steady and pay close attention to both the rear view and the blind spot indicators to make sure that you do not move over as another car is coming around. Took me 6 tries at Daytona before I managed to finish without being spun out but when I looked at the replay those spins were my own fault from moving over into a car that was coming around. When I started paying closer attention to the blind side indicators I won easily.

That was the hardest one though i did get spun a few times on Indy as well

I did it on my first try, the key is to not try to be first for the whole race. just sit around in the draft then pass them on the final lap, they won't have time to come back at you then, all you have to do is stay safe and prepare for the pass. Regarding Daytona.

I only had issues at High Speed Ring personally, partly due to the AI doing what they do knocking you off, and partly due to my own driving mistakes causing some oversteer moments, still won though.

I got spun out too (took some photos too, see my gallery). But it was fun to drive the Nascar :) very intense. BigBazz gave a good point. Don't try to be first until the last lap (or even last corner).

well that time i got spun on a strait so yeah it is always their fault.
It does not matter if you get spun on a straight or a curve, What i saw when I looked at the replay was that I was moving over a bit one way or the other and the AI car already had his nose up beside my rear 1/4 so when I moved over I spun out and it was my own fault. From bumper view it appeared I was clear but i wasn't and the blind side indicator showed me this and I was able to win without issue once I started paying more attention to it.

Of course you may also get spun without it being your fault but if you watch the replay sometimes you will find that you are angry with the AI when it was not the AI that caused the problem.

At any rate the races are not that hard but may take a few tries to get the hang of. Once you win them a couple of times they are easy.

On Indy I was able to pull away far enough that they could not draft off me on the last lap and won by a large margin.

I had no problems with Daytona - did it first time - which is strange for me because on GT5 I could never get Gold on that one at all.

This time round the physics helped, and the Blind Side Indicators. They're invaluable on NASCAR races.

Hardest race for me was High Speed Ring. I think I had to restart that race like 20 times because the AI kept spinning me out, or I just couldn't get the car to corner well enough and spun out myself. The proper ovals were actually the easiest to do, Willow wasn't that hard either, because it was flatter than HSR.

All I can suggest is that you pay attention to the Blind Side Indicators - such a little feature but really useful in races like this. I've made so many mistakes myself when not paying attention to them, and turned into a car many times and of course spun out. So I think use these more than anything, stay on your line when you see it flashing red, and if you feel your car being knocked or shunted, keep the wheel steady.

The hardest race for me was Willow, but that was because I kept spinning myself out. Also, the GT5 NASCAR tunes work on GT6, just multiply the Downforce requested by 10 and add 80 to the ride height.

Took me 3 tries on Willow, first try was with my Daytona setup finished 5th. Maxxed out the downforce finished 3rd turned down the Accel a little finished 1st. Used the same setup on HSR and Indy won both easily HSR on the first try Indy on the 3rd try got caught in the pack and spun out on the first 2 but on the third I was able to get inside them on the corners to take the lead blocked a little then pulled away

I got first at Daytona in both of the 2 tries that i have attempted. First with the DFGT, 2nd with the DS3. First attempt, i led the last half of the race (2 1/2 laps, got the lead on the backstretch on lap 3) and held it the rest of the race. 2nd attempt, i waited and pushed the #83 to the lead with half a lap to go, made my move for the win between turn 4 and the tri oval. Time to do the other races now.
