Hi,
I am doing some research for an assigment on tires and I am finding it hard to get information on the tires used in nascar in terms of there construction, the different types of compounds and there size.
It would be great help if I could get some links to the information or if any one on here knows about them themselves it would be a great help.

The tires are made different for every track, (and each wheel) so it would be hard to get info for every one.

So your saying correct me if im wrong they have a different compound for each track, but do they have a selection of different compounds at an event like F1 or are they all the same?

*Tyres.

Nah, it's alright, I wish you the best in your studies. Does this project have to be about NASCAR tyres? Because I think you would have it much easier finding info regarding Formula 1 tyres.

Lol i know we in the uk spell it the right way as well but i know americans would have all the answer so i spelled it that way.

I'm doing nascar tyres cause I already know alot about f1 tyres and i want to learn something new.

If I recall correctly, one of the races last year, they switched from one compound to a different one. The announcers were noting the colors on the tires.

Also, Tony Stewart mentioned something about rain tires during the seat swap, saying it was something he'd never done before.

Of course I may be wrong.

Nascar tires are yellow and no other color. Use to be white but yellow shows better in pictures.

Yes, they have rain tires, but are severely untested so they don't bother using them outside of the Nationwide series, which they've sort of retreated from using there as well.
