Hey guys, we have a league over on www.nasioc.com, going on 15 series (8-9 weeks per) now. But GT5 is reaching the end of it's life and our attendance has dropped from 10+ to 5-6 guys. Some are burnt out and others are busy with work.
We are preparing to start our 15th series, and are looking for a few good/clean drivers to join our league. It's a gentleman league, clean passing etc etc.
To give you a basic idea on our league. We run a qualy session (1 lap) to determine the grid. Then we do a sprint race in a spec car (changes each series) of around 15min with tire wear set to fast. Then we run the main event (40min) which has tire wear on fast as well. The tire wear allows for usually 2-3 stops which helps with adding strategy to the races.
Points are added up over the season, and the winner is decided on a best of 8 system, so if there are 9 races only your best 8 finishes count. We also require everyone to use mics.
Another interesting thing is we use a baseline system. For instance, this series we are using historic cars and Nurburgring GP F as the baseline track. Each person has to get their car setup so that a 3 lap race takes you 5min55. We do this to create closer racing as some guys are better than others, and it also allows different cars to be used and not relying on the PP system which usually isn't accurate. After each race the top 5 finishers are assigned a PP penalty (5/4/3/2/1) similar to the JGTC adding weight for winning. The baseline/pp penalties are only for the main event though, the sprint race is meant as a "straight racing" race, everyone has the same car/pp, but you are allowed to tune the suspension to your driving style.
