NAT internet connection: how to have a better one

I have a Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem. I plugged directly my internet wiring from this modem to my PS3. But when i play online, the GT5P connection page says that i have a NAT 3 connection, that seems to be the badest one. But we have High speed connection here (at least, we pay for this service !).

I went thru the explanations the game gives to have a type 2 or type 1 connection. But i know nothing about all of this stuff, I a mnot a computer guy...

Do somebody knows a link that will help me with how-to-do-it-when-you-are-a-newbie very simple and good expalnations about all of that ?

NAT 3 when plugged into the modem sounds odd, but I know little about this stuff as well.

Judging by the /en at the end of that, there should be french as well. I hope this helps a bit.

Yesterday I played online and it was written Type NAT: 0

I don't understand why but I had to disconnect my cable to check my email and when I connect it again, the PS3 asked my if he had to do the connection again on automatic and I say yes.
That is when I saw the tye NAT :0 status.
Today I played GTA4 online, it was all the time disconnecting, sayinfg that my internet connection was not good enough (dont remember the exact sentence).
I don't know what to do. I am with Bell Sympatico High speed internet connection (phone line).
