This isn't my debut to the music forums, but this is my first thread in a while here in these forums. This one's about Natalie and her self-titled album.

As of 7/23/05, if you were able to wake up as early as 7:00 AM and tune the tube to FOX, you may have seen Natalie be the weekend's host of 4kids.tv coverage. Natalie is a 25-year old R&B singer who was formerly a Houston Rockets Power Dancer. This Latina hermosa proudly represents Houston on the R&B circuit. Her CD has 12 songs to it, with one song done in Spanish. If there's one thing her debut CD lacks, is as we would say in hip-hop, a "banging joint." Natalie's style is serene and mellow. Her singing is done pretty beautifully, and most of her songs reflect that beauty in her songs. In terms of R&B and/or pop music, I haven't heard a vocalist I liked a lot since the Swedish youngster Robyn back in 1998. This CD was dedicated to her late grandfather. I bet her late grandfather will be proud to hear the voice of his 25-year old daughter making some waves in the music world.

This Houston diva is pretty lovely. While I was watching that sneak peek of Natalie's video of her hit song "Goin' Crazy," she is beautiful. While the combination of a black top, denim crops, and high-heeled sandals were a lethal combination for her, she is angellic in beauty. It almost seems as if her rhythmetic and mellow songs are a reflection of how lovely she is. If you have heard her hit singles "Goin' Crazy" and/or "Energy," what do you think of this young Houstonian's music? By the way, her music experience shows she used to be a freestyle rapper. But, how do you think she'll do in the future?

Does this angelic Natalie have a last name or a phone number?

[edit]

Damn, this chick is FINE!

You seem to like this girl..

And i don't blame you, she is quite beautiful, and form the looks of things. the beauty shines inside and out.

Natalie Alvarado. I knew her last name started with an "A," just not sure what name. According to...

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/features/burr/3190228

...Natalie grew up in Clear Lake, which is maybe 1/2 an hour or even an hour away from where I live. I live in Southeast Houston, and Clear Lake is going down around Space Center Houston. My favorite song is "Goin' Crazy." It seems like this song was the work of a long-going relationship that thankfully didn't get ugly or anything.

I was talking about her on FOX's collection of Saturday morning cartoons from the Sailor Moon wannabe "Mew Mew Power" to Shonen Jump's "Shaman King." Well, she was a guest in Dollyville co-hosting the show "The Menu" (http://www.themenutv.com), where she did a performance with Baby Bash for her other hit song "Energy." Speaking of "Energy," she'll be performing that on "Live with Regis and Kelly" this coming Monday (I believe).

I think she's a great artist. Many people have her down being more like one of those "ones to watch" stars. And I'm behind her all the way. She's a Houstonian, I'm a Houstonian. Us here in H-Town will likely support her in her musical career even outside of music. Speaking of Houston, I wonder what some of you in Houston think about Natalie and her music?

She's pretty cute I suppose. I'd check it out, next time I'm on iTunes. :)

Actually she does have some nice sounding songs because of her "soothing" voice but I'm not sure she's that "hot".

Okay, here's some more on Natalie.

From what I've seen in websites (explained later), Natalie is compared to Paula Abdul. The one thing I didn't know is that Paula Abdul was a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers before she found some of her fame in music. I don't follow music too much, so I don't know about Paula Abdul outside of the Paula Abdul/Simon Cowell or Paula Abdul vs. Simon Cowell deal. If Abdul is any indication, Natalie may be another singing sweetheart for American music. She hasn't quitted her job as being part of the Houston Rockets, so I think most of us here in H-Town will still see her as the Rockets take on teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Seattle Supersonics, Portland Trailblazers, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and all them.

If you're a Latina, Natalie A. is the new face of Zalia Cosmetics, the first ever cosmetics line committed to Latinas. For someone like here in Houston, that's big around our way, because Latin Americans (far north as Mexico, far south as Argentina) make up a huge part of Houston's population. It is a diverse city, but a big majority are Latin Americans. The collection is called the "Goin' Crazy" collection, in honor of Natalie's smash single "Goin' Crazy."

I think Natalie's tour is still on-going around America, then I think she'll tackle Europe and Japan during the tour. Many websites have her as being one to watch.

Here are some more websites about her, even about Zalia Cosmetics which Natalie is a big sponsor of:

Paula was huge when I was a teen. Everybody makes fun of her now, because she fell from her stardom so fast, plus she battled weight problems soon after. Her first album(only good one) was like greatest hits, all by itself.

So you don't see Natalie probably going down the same downward spiral as Paula Abdul has? I don't know if being an American Idol judge counts as part of a downward spiral, so I'll leave that to you all :).

If you have the self-titled CD, I thought I'd share my top 5 favorite songs:
1. Going Crazy/Me Faltas Tu
2. You Don't Love Me No More
3. Where Are You
4. Stay
5. Energy

I don't have a song I generally hate, but my least favorite is "I Can't Wait." Heh, that rhymes. Anyhow, carry on, if you wish

super hot... but her voice sounds about the same as almost every other female r&b musician I've heard over the past several years. The music isn't too bad though, I just might grab this album since I haven't gotten any hip-hop/r&b albums in nearly a year.

If there's one thing about Houston I miss (other than my friends), it's GOT to be the girls. It seemed damn near impossible to meet an ugly girl when I was there (other than the occasional immensly obese 👎)

Now it's been about a week since I was introduced to Natalie, not to mention having her as the highlight of my Saturday last Saturday. First I see her in the FOX lineup of Saturday morning cartoons, as Natalie would be the host. I've been watching through all the shows, just to see her pretty face and listen to her nice voice. I sat through "Mew Mew Power" looking to see Natalie through the commercials. Afterwards, I saw the music video of "Goin' Crazy" during commercials of the "Winx Club." Then seen her at times during Sonic X, Alien Racers, [the 21st Century] Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Shonen Jump's One Piece, and then Shonen Jump's Shaman King. Had I been able to see all of "The Menu," I would have been able to see Natalie a bit more. Then I'd see that she had on a pretty short top (she's a hot girl, so why not?) during The Menu. After TV, it was on to a Wal-Mart, bought the CD, haven't stopped listening to it, especially not "Goin' Crazy" and my other favorites.

The track "Goin' Crazy" may be one of my personal favorite songs of this year. Maybe not yours, but mine. If she gets on a roll, she may be BETTER than Paula Abdul in terms of an NBA babe venturing into music. Natalie would like to maybe work with another one of Houston's own- Destiny's Child. Natalie has talent, and she just wants to have fun. What can I say? You only live once. Live each day like it's the last. Have fun while you're still young. That's what Natalie is like. I don't know if Houston's Latinas are into that "Goin' Crazy" cosmetics line or not, but surely Natalie is one to watch. No, not just her in baby tees, hot jeans, and with her hair down, but in terms of perhaps being another star.

The 11th song of 12 is called "Where are You?" It features Justin Roman. You only know Justin Roman if you've heard him from the "Making the Band" series. I think Natalie's voice is at her sweetest in this song. Midway into "You Don't Love Me No More," Natalie shows off some of her hip-hop style. She doesn't really have a central genre of music, if you ask me. Track 4, "Ooh" kind of has a Destiny's Child vibe to it. My least favorite, "I Can't Wait" (Track 6) kind of reminds me of a Houston Rockets home game because I remember hearing a similar theme when I seen Rockets' home games on TV. I'd sure like her to keep up the good work.

A bit of Natalie news. She was part of a big collection of stars to perform at a club in Los Angeles this past weekend. This was in an effort to promote cancer awareness to children. Among them were herself, Baby Bash, Frankie J, Rihanna, teen sensation JoJo, Chingy, and Jesse McCartney. Not to mention The focus will be on Lance Armstrong surviving cancer, Peter Jennings dying from cancer, and Diana Reeves' uphill battle with lung cancer. Saying this is 12:38 AM on Thursday in Central Daylight Time, NYC, Natalie's coming your way in NYC for the Latino Night's Carnival Magic Summer Concert. The deal takes place in Crobar in NYC, and she's bringing her good friend Baby Bash from California. (-Source, http://www.nataliemusic.com )

Now on the radio, I've been hearing "Where Are You?" on local network 104.1 KRBE. It's the song that features "Making the Band" finalist Justin Roman. In my last post, I told you about it. I've been hearing Natalie in Baby Bash's song... I don't know what it's called, but she sings the lyric "...call on me." Sorry! Not good with lyrics. Anyhow, she still has a lot going for her, and I've liked this CD and enjoyed her talent. More to come, Natalie? I think in my introduction, I state that one of the weak points of the CD was the lack of some bumping tunes. The new weak point is that I kind of wished to hear a few more songs because I've enjoyed her music in a way that 12 songs seems like too little to actually hear her at her best.

I think you've got a bit of an obsession developing there, John. Might wanna keep an eye on it.

;)

John, if you want a good idea about how popular this bird is, consider this.

You/Natalie and I are separated by thousands of miles of water (and Iceland) and I know who you're talking about.
