Nations Cup & Manufactures Cup Race entry failure

I've been racing in both Championships tonight but just when I was about to start qualifying for both in the last races of the day it looks like the servers just chucked me out and I couldn’t re-enter. This is very annoying. I had managed to complete two races in the Nations Cup and one in the Manufactures Championship earlier in the evening.

I tested the connection which was good and I’m using a wired connection to the PlayStation, is this just a crap server fault?

How many of you have had this problem? Anything I can do to prevent it happening again?
 
This is the disconnect bug. Quitting GT Sport and re-opening it is a temporary workaround, but this bug has been in the game for four months and PD have not addressed it.
