Whenever I enter a seasonal event, and i race the first of say 5 races, when I try to go to next race in series the exit removes me completely from the season events. So to complete an event with 5 races, i end up going to main screen and going back to seasonal events just to get to the second race. Why does it exit each time?

That's just how the software is coded, no way around it. Try the Seasonal forum next time :).

The game assumes you're already done with whatever you're doing, so it takes you back to the GT Life Main Menu.

It's down to poor design. Extremely annoying for all of us. With any luck they'll fix this in the update coming in the next day or so, that and endurance race saves.
