A long time ago I stumbled upon this page on GTPlanet.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/faq.php
I had the foresight to bookmark it. At the time I was very new to forums et al and was keen to learn about the BB code used.

Over the years Ive occasionally tried to navigate to that page starting from GTP Forums https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/index.php but so far have failed miserably.:grumpy:

Is it not meant to be or am I just old and nearsighted? :sly:

I looked and looked then found this. When you change to GTP Lite the "Help" in in the grey bar at the top takes you to the "Help" page you show.

"GTP Lite" is a second style, or "skin", that you can use to browse the GTP Forums with a slightly different look. GTP Lite was designed with minimal graphics and code to ensure the fastest-possible loading times for users with slow internet connections or browsers that are not compatable with technologies used in the default style.

How can I change my options to use GTP Lite, or go back to using the GTP Default style?
Go to your Account Options and scroll down until you see the "Forum Skin" option, where you will then find a small drop-down box which allows you to change the style that you use. Then just click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page and all will be set. (Note: This setting is for your own account. When you visit the site not logged into your account, you will use the Default skin like any guest. Log in to your account and it will be what you set it to be.)

Don't worry, AMG, you're not losing your mind - the link is not readily available. A link to the FAQ page is displayed to new users who have not activated their account. There is also a link to a specific feature on the My GTPlanet "Edit Options" page. It's linked in a few automated emails sent out as well. I originally removed the link from the site's header template when styling GTP9 (the latest version of the site you're using now). After looking through the statistics, only about 2 people a month were ever clicking on "Help" despite its old, prominent location. Yes, I should have put it somewhere else, but didn't. I will keep that in mind for the next revision.

@ Opelgt1969 Wow, that was an extensive answer. 👍 I was aware of most of it though. Have never needed GTP lite so I didn't think of that option.

@ Jordan, I'll keep the bookmark for now. The BBcode help comes in handy now and then. :)

Yea that Copy/Paste feature makes typing a long answer real hard! I was playing around and did put that "link" in my signature just to test if it worked and it did, but I removed it. Just in case you might want to try.
