Because he didn't want further useless commenting in that Thread.

Just for the record, there isn't like some magical "Reports webpage" that the moderators go to… reports just get emailed to us.
Exactly, which is why I was so confused by that comment.

I agree on the Elitist Regular Members, although they are few and far between. I don't think everyone is guilty, though.

I hate the elitist members who hate you just for being new. They must have forgotten that they were new at one time.
I agree, I used to be looked down on a fair bit. I also see older members get treated more leniantly by the mods, inadvertantly of course, but it does happen. I know of many occasions where people have been treated leniantly by moderators because the moderator has some friendship with that person from the years at GTP.

I think 'newbies' should have things explained to them etc. When I came here it's the warm reception I got by everyone that made me stay, I've noticed alot of that dissappear recently. I think it's rather sad the attitude alot of members have.

I agree. I got a very warm reception, and it was through-out the Forum, not just the GTA Forum. I know I still try to treat new members as good as I can, but so do other more recent members as they know what it's like.

I think those nice warm welcomes should come back, and even though they still happen, it's not as common.

So I'll ask again.. when a post is resurrected, why is that the first response it gets is usually something along the lines of "What the hell were you thinking posting to this thread?"

And, to be honest, I posted it here for the Mods and Admins, not for general discussion. I admin myself on another forum, and we actively discourage necro-posting, to the tune of warnings and even suspensions to repeat offenders. While it may be "fun" for the person who's bumping it, it's not fun to the person who mistakingly thinks it's news. All it does is bump real news and discussions further down.
I support grave-digging to some extent. I believe the problem lies not in resurrecting old threads, but is already covered by the general prohibition on spamming and useless posts.

Look at it this way - when a n00b posts a new thread on an old subject, what happens? A dozen regulars jump in and say "USE THE FREAKING SEARCH BUTTON, MORON"... so when an old thread gets found and brought back up, what happens? A dozen regulars jump in and say "STOP DRAGGING UP OLD THREADS, IDIOT."

Which way do you want it? To me it is no crime to bring back a thread if you're actually adding something to further the discussion. In fact, it's much preferable. Spammy one-liner "me toos" are just plain annoying, whether it's a new thread or an old one. So make that the real offense (which it is already), not bringing back old threads.

Exactly what me and you both experienced (watched).

Hey Jordan or any mods I think the new members here are kinda getting out of control. For example someone who shall not be named asked "does anyone know why they delayed it yet again?"
And I responded "Sorry "dude" but noone knows why. I think this thread is useless and I got another member who think its also useless so I think it should be closed sorry but you will just have to wait until we get more info."
I quoted dude because I guess I felt like it or whatever but just ignore it I guess.
And then one of the new members got all on and and responded " you bunch of big baby's. (alliteration, w00t) If you're tierd of these threads then dont bother a)looking at them and b)posting smart-ass, egotistical remarks. "
Now you guys tell me wether my post was me responing trying to sound like a "smart - ass" or just responded nicely like I always do?

I request that the thread be closed since it really has no point other than a question which has no answer... well at least right now. Anyways these dang new members are kinda getting me really really angry and if you guys have stayed here long enough you guys know that I am a really calm person and dont really bash on new members even though I talked about it a few times I believe. I think that there has to be something done about this I just dont have an idea on what though. Oh well and the Mods might wanna check out that place and clean it up a bit meaning close a few threads. Thanks. :D

That thread is out of hand alright.
Yeah it is its kinda making me mad also. I wish I was a mod right now so I can go and close all the useless threads. :D I did that report to mod button but maybe the message didnt get through?

*EDIT*
Ok I just reported a duplicate thread to be closed or deleted. Duplicate thread -https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51564
Original thread - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51563
Created by the same user. Maybe it was an accident?

Well, hopefully when GT4 comes out we won't have to answer these stupid questions in the GT4 forum, eh? Just another reason to wish it was here sooner!

I don't think posting all of the bad threads in here is very useful either. Those threads are out of hand, but don't advertise it. Let the Mods deal with that privately.

Exactly. I see the point in getting a little annoyed when people bring back a thread to say "me too", or something along those lines, but when they have a point, it's perfectly fine. That's why we have the Search Button. Duplicate Thread-Making does get a little annoying, but we've all been guilty of it somewhere along the lines.

Just correct them with a smile. :)
