So as some of you know, I'm working on covering the back wall of my theater room with pallet wood and a friend just bought a new CNC router that he's looking to have some fun with. That lead him to making me a receptacle cover out of a piece of wood, getting me thinking about other stuff for him to make.
One of the ideas I had was naming the theater room and having him cut the sign out of a piece of the pallet wood. As I'm not even close to artistic, I thought I'd thrown it at you guys to come up with a design for me, if you'd be so kind. I have a few requirements, but I don't think any of them should limit the potential ideas too terribly much.
Requirements:
As he can either design the cuts in the software that came with the router or you can import from AutoCAD (which both of us have access to), I'd like to keep it down to things that can be easily recreated - Windows TTF fonts that I can trace to arcs and lines, simple(ish) designs that can be redrawn if necessary (AutoCAD can import image files then you can redraw over the top). I wouldn't be opposed to things like a movie reel and film worked in there somehow. That kind of thing.
The pallet wood is around a 5.25" tall by 40" wide (convert that as necessary) rectangle so I'd like the full extents of the design to top out at around 4.5"x39" or so.
Other than that, I'm pretty open to ideas. The only thing I've mocked up, which shouldn't influence either the design or the name, was this:
As far as the little details like altering the font(s) with the connections to keep the middle of the "e" and "o", I can take care of that in CAD afterwards.
Thank you in advance! If you have any questions, feel free, obviously!
