I need a laptop that will let in very little interference(noise, static) to the usb ports. I need it so that when I plug in the power cord, or speakers to it, that it doesn't send anything at all to the usb. I'm going to use it with a kyosho lap counter for RC racing and it works off of radio frequencies with RFID tags inside of the cars. My PC laptop doesn't work very well at all with it. You can't use the power cord or speakers while trying to use the lap counter. My wife's macbook is a little better, but when plugging in the power cord it interferes some with the lap counting system, and it sometimes misses cars crossing the counting loop.

So I guess what I need is a laptop that is shielded very well from outside static or noise caused by other electronics around it, and from other devices that are plugged into it. Any ideas on where I could find technical info on laptops about this would be great, or experience with using a product similar to mine with a laptop.

I think the best way is to send emails to laptop manufacturers for the information you need. They would not advertise this information to the average consumer. I would see if a different USB cable would help that problem. I personally think the problem is that your device is not designed well against interference.

I think the speakers would put out interference anyway. Do you need to use the speakers?

Using the power cord, sound like there is noise/interference on the electrical circuit.

Does your laptop charger have a ground connection? 3rd round pin going into the electrical socket?
