Has your slimline ps2 been overheating in the summer heat? well i just found a solution on this other site.

Disclaimer: you should do this only If your warranty has expired on your slim, you don't care about your warranty, or you've already voided your warranty by taking the cover off.

Unscrew the screws and take the top cover off. Locate where the cpu fan is. notice which way it blows. it blows through the case, and sucks air from the top of it. all that does is circulate hot air around inside the case. The fan would work so much better if you drill a few holes in the top of the case right above the fan Locate the relative position of the fan holes to where they are in the top cover. trace the position of where the holes are relative to the case. then take a drill and drill holes on the top cover relative to the holes on your cpu fan. your result should look something like the attached picture.
It may not look pretty, but it works. i've tried it and ever since i've had not had any overheating problems since.
