These are gonna sound like total newb questions but here goes

i am trying to learn to drive the beast that is the fgt and my problem is that every time i brake going into a cornerthe rear gets loose and it spins out:yuck:

and anytime i try accelerating coming out of a corner the same thing happens:grumpy:

now i know throttle control is of the upmost importance especially with that beast so i am wondering if i need to go to the "bungie cord" mod (dfgt) to get a better feel for the acceleration/brake pressure i am using.

any help would be great thanks:tup:

It sounds like you aren't using ABS which is ok.

With practice and in your own time, it's probably best to learn to drive consistently with a loose rear end on entry into the corners so that you fine tune your ability to modulate the brake pedal when making the transition from braking in a straight line to cornering.
Once this is acheived, you'll then be able to decide how much rear brake bias you can live with.

I use the DFGT and have the brakes calibrated to almost maximum travel - when the brake pedal is released you can modulate the weight transfer/slowing down more easily.

When the brake pedal is released too quickly, the car momentarily is going too fast with too much weight over the front wheels at that given moment, which is why it wants to spin out. Experienced drivers anticipate this, and make the correction an instant before the car slides too much, resulting in no loss of time.

You'll get used to driving in a mode where eventually you'll be able to anticipate what the rear is going to do.
