Need Help In Two Player Mode

Im running a tournament at my school and when i go into two player and choose one of my cars from my memory card, they always just burn the tires completely and wont shift ( for ppl in auto, i use manual) and handle worse.

whats the problem?
 
The burning of tires is because the garage cars don't have TCS nor ASM in two player, the handling is probably because they can't have racing tires. Not the faintest idea about the shifting problem though.
 
I had the same problem. It seems gt4 likes to default to normal tires in 2player mode. Try buying all the tires for the car, select to ones you want in GT mode, save the game and try again. Don't bother choosing tires when given the selection in 2player mode, this does nothing.
