Need help; PC/Wheel all in one solution

So, I just moved into a new flat and want to build a desk to set up my G27 wheel. As the room is fairly small, the large permanant cockpits are out of the picture. As my PC is going to be in the same room and hooked up to the same monitor (My PS3 too), I want an all in one solution which will allow me to use my PC normally with a decent amount of space, without the need to mount/unmount the wheel every time I use it (Been there, done that, too much hassle).

Ideally, i'd just have to slide the monitor over to infront of the wheel to us it. A wheelstand pro or similar wouldn't make sense financially, as i'm already going to be spending £100-250 on a desk and chair.

I'm curious if anybody on here has seen something similar, as i'm fishing for ideas. My initial thoughts were to build (or buy) a wide desk with the keyboard and wheel side by side, with the monitor on a runner behind them which can slide across to whichever I want to use (I'd draw it up on CAD, but that's on my PC, which isn't set up).

I'd really appreciate any help/advice/suggestions before I start spending money.

I think you answered your own question, given the fact the room is small and a quality stand is out of the question, financially speaking. I think in your case a wide desk would be the answer here.

Myself I have a full blown rig with triple 55" HDTV's and a custom built Zalem rig. 7.1 sounds surround, sound system. However you situation won't allow for that since room size affects that. I'm lucky I have a four bedroom house with two bathrooms. My man cave is downstairs in a 14 foot by 26 foot room or approximately 5 meters x 8 meters. Good luck.
