I am trying to run Oni on windows 7, the game is for win 98 and win 2000 so I ran it in compatability mode for both and I get a intro screen but then it goes black buut there is still music playing. Just wondering if anyone knew how to fix it would be great to try this game out thanks :)

Ooh, Oni was awesome, I was recently thinking about picking up a copy but decided against it because a) I couldn't find it cheap enough and b) I was worried about compatibility.

I've found this: http://oni.bungie.org/community/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1554

Also, it may turn out that you need to set the core affinity of the Oni executable to only run on one core. How you do that exactly is beyond me but this might help, I don't know: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/bang-dual-processing-buck,815-3.html

I know it's vague but hopefully you'll find something useful. Most people say Oni just works out of the box on Windows 7, though.

To set the affinity you have to press ctrl+alt+del click on task manager then the processes tab. Right click on the oni.exe and click set affinity and uncheck the cores that you don't need.

^ Which is odd, because many games I've tried to play that need to have the CPU cores dialled back just crash before you can set that. Steam games are easy because you just the launch parameters, but others would need it set (I assume) before you launch the game... Otherwise it'll crash. Doesn't seem to matter in this case though as it isn't crashing.

Another thing to try us to force vertical sync on in your graphics card control panel. That could explain why you're not getting any graphics. Also try dropping your resolution down, though I doubt that's it.

Ya I've never had to uncheck cores before so I wouldn't know. The only time I've set the affinity is for game stock car which was only set to use one core.
