hi i have a 03 corolla that rattles a lot when stoped and ive found that the cause is the heat shield over the headers has rusted. my question is can i just remove it or would that cause other problems and would it be better to replace it. thanks in advance.
What we sometimes do at work in this case is take a metal hose clamp (or put multiple together, if it's too large) around it and tighten it up. That doesn't always work but it's worth a shot before trying to find a new one.
