Need help with G27

I'm trying to use my H-pattern shifter for the vintage cars on this game that goes with my G27. The problem is, when i shift with it, it doesn't work. I've notice that this shifter doesnt work with some of the older games. Is there a setting I need to change/turn on? An help would be appreciated.

I highly doubt the shifter will work. The game is quite old, and the G27 is quite new.
