Need help with Grand Prix Legends!

I recently tracked down a copy of GPL, used the GPLPS Auto Installer and set the game up. Everything worked until I got to racing. When I click the green flag to race it crashes. I have disabled DEP on the games .exe's and have tried running it in Win XP SP3 and Win 98 compatibility modes with administrator but still nothing has worked. No other mods apart from GPLPS has been installed.

Edit: I'm on Win 8.1
