I tried using my Xsara rally car once with medium slick tires-The softer mediums. I pitted once on lap 8 and lost.. To the TRD celica. Then the next time I tried using Slick T2's on the front and the mediums on the back. The tire wear was perfect and I pitted 0 times but lost by 15 seconds to the beetle cup car. On that race the spoon CTR was also racing.. I got 2nd place both times. But the distance apart from all the cars were messed up for the 2nd race with the beetle beating me and the ITR-Yellow one losing to me by 8 seconds.? I get 1:55-1:57's constantly after 15 laps and I'm using Fumes Monoco settings but running ASM at level 1- He's running 0

Yep, dump the ASM to zero. This is the likely cause of understeer that you're suffering on corner exit.

For the most part on any car, ASM = 0.

A few suggestions for driving high powered FF cars. Ease the throttle on through corner exit. If you tromp the throttle, it causes wheel spin resulting in sever understeer. (in other words, you bee line for the outside of the corner.

The other hint, is relax a bit. Monaco is often a track that rewards smooth control. With the corners being so tight, a smooth calmer drive will often result in a faster lap time.

The no pit stop strategy is good. This is usually a key factor. The last factor is practice. Unload the HP modifications you've added and run a few practice laps (qualifying) to aim for a smoother drive.

Oh, and hit hte brakes sooner than you think. A smooth transition to power on, will help curb your understeer.

Good luck,

AO

Thanks for the tips.. I retried using the celica and the stiffest tires in the front.(TRD celica BTW). and mediums in the back I won the CTR.. W00T.. But it's yellow.. Man those 17500 revs scare me yet make me smile.. I think I have all spoons now. S2000, S2000 race car, CTR? Any other ones?

There's a Spoon Civic though...I think.

Civic Type R maybe?

Anyways, if u arent looking for a close race and you just want to win, the fully modded honda integra type r will take it easily.

Well, you can't get the Spoon Civic TypeR until you have won all 3 races...Can't we?

Try the Fiat Coupe Turbo. It should work great. But if you wanna blow the competition, shoot for the Citroen Rally Car.

I don't really like the Civics but the NSX and the MR-s are probably my favorite cars in the game, just because they are NA.

You have to have smooth accelerator control with cars with NA motors, especially in combination with a FF drivetrain. It's so responsive that you can break traction and understeer with FF cars really easily.

This is where left foot braking comes in. Particularily on Monaco, where you have to keep your revs up or you're screwed. You should also be tuning for low to mid range power. Although you may have less 'total power' you will have more power in the lower RPM's, which is where you will be most of the time on this track.

Getting upwards of 200hp can also mess things up. Understeer becomes more prevelant and you may even notice the wheel pulling to one side... assuming you are using a wheel. If not, have fun. Heh.

Well I won it and it's handels great.. The revs bring a scary smile.. 17500 :) That thing has low end for a honda.. Feels like a I-6.. Or a S2000 motor in a Civic that's gutted. Also did anyone notice the Spoon sports racing S2000 sounds wimpy compared to the Street Purple S2000?
