Hey guys i need some help selecting a new coilover kit for my evo..... right now i'm running on my stocks witch are getting me a little upset because it yaws to much... i have lot of regitidy from my kusco sway bars (front and rear), front strut bar, and rear triangle bar.

I would know that tein, jic, hks, and kusco make coilover kits for my car.... but i need some help sdelecting one for the best price.....

thanks for any help guys.....

www.evolutionm.net

They are a site dedicated to Lancers, so their forums would probably be a better place to look for this sort of thing. I don't think anyone here at GTP owns a Lancer Evo.

"Yaws" too much? In other words, oversteers?

I'll also second the recommendation that you go to a real automotive board for the car in question.

Yep. For the best advice, hit an Evo specific site.

But maybe your aftermarket sways are contributing to the yaw tendencies. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised it a little oversteer from the kit was "a feature, not a bug", as they sometimes say in tech-land. Most aftermarket kits are designed to reduce some of the the factory understeer-is-safe tendancies. If you want some stability, your best bet may be a set of adjustable ones... or just go back to the stock setup.

I would also recommend an evo specific site, and I'll give you a couple new reasons:

1) coilovers are adjustable, and if you don't know what you are doing they won't remedy anything. You can learn a lot from people in car forums, and then you will know if coilovers are what you want, and how to adjust them once you buy them

2) I own an STi and the first thing you are supposed to mod for handling (on an STi) are the springs, but most people opt for the STi pink springs as opposed to coilovers because coilovers need to be rebuilt quite often.

3) our cars are pretty much monsters already. You should take it to the track 5 times and then decide what you need to do to the car. You will meet lots of nice people at the track that know what they are doing and can help you decide what you want for your car as well. Also, going to the track will improve the element of the car that makes the most difference when it comes to handling, braking, speed, and performance: THE DRIVER!

EDIT: spelling
I hope this helps and good luck with your car - she's a beast!

I would go to www.buschurracing.com. They have been dealing with the DSM's since day 1. Call em up and they are super helpful on answering tech questions and what parts to go with. They also have a designated EVO forum on the site.

well thanks guy for the great information.... i already knew about evolutionm.net.... they been helping me with my choices in my evo... i just figured to ask you guys for this site is much more friendlier then over there...... and thanks to the guy with the STI what you have said has been a great help....

I'm planning to get the Tein SS with EDFC including MR tailights, Perrin test pipe, Kusco lower air bars v.1 and v.2....
