Clean your disc, if that doesn't fix your problems then delete all game data (not save data) and reinstall again...
Hope this helps.

Why strike through the advice about cleaning the disc? It's amazing how many people take no care with their game discs at all, they get covered in scratches and all kinds of crud and then they wonder why it isn't working. Plus all the mess on the disc ends up inside your PS3...not good. Seriously the PS3 isn't an NES, also wasn't designed to be moved about a lot. Blu-Ray discs aren't indestructable either.

all you have to do is delete your current GAME DATA,but not save data, and ReUPDATE your GT5.if the update success, the game should back to normal

As you have said, you tried updating and it failed so your game data got messed up, just delete game data and reinstall.

totally agree 👍

i can´t understand why people spend about 50€ for a game and then treat it like crap. i always only touch the disc on the inner ring, so i make sure not to make scratches or fingerprints on it. it goes into the ps3 and back into the cover when i don´t use it. also i almost never borrow my games to anyone, since i get them back scratched and ofc the person i borrowed it to didn´t do the scratches *rolleyes* :)

btt: like others said, delete your gamedata and reinstall. but mby you wait until psn is back online so you can update the game properly..

I don't get it either. It's extremely easy to take care of your discs. How disturbed must one be to be able to harm a blu-ray disc?
