Need Settings for the ZZ-II

I have this car with full mods and I'm suffering real problems with understeer during acceleration, and to some extent also during coasting as well.

Before I enter a corner I brake down to an appropriate speed (No problems here) I then lift and the car turns in ok as I lift, then once the car hits steady state it starts to understeer and if I hit the gas it just goes straight on.

I can't remember my current settings exactly (I'm at work at the moment) but there in general terms they are:

Springs
F: Soft R: Stiffer by about 10%
Height
F 15MM above min R: 10MM above Front
Dampers
B F: 4 or 5 R: 6 or 7
R F: 7 r: 8
Camber
F 2.5 R 1.1
The rest of suspension is stock
VCD is set to 10%

i'm pretty poor at tuning the suspension so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Power over steer would be my ideal choice for how to drive it (Which I know is tough to get in a 4wd) but I'm adaptable in my driving style and I'll just be happy to get the thing round a corner at the moment!

I do have a question about your settings before I try them...

Have you managed to reduce the front tyre wear? I'm guessing that that if you've managed to get the front of the car turning then you probably have, but I'm curious about it nonetheless.

well, actually I haven't even noticed that problem.. Aerodynamics have lots of do with that, so buying a spoiler helps in this case. the car sticks the road like glue. even my "stig" manages somehow drive it so well that the tyre wear is even. I also try compensate that problem by using different tyres front and rear, especially if the car is FWD or RWD. but in mid-engined AWD cars this problem is almost nonexistent, atleast what I've seen this far. this car is wonderful piece of art and I want one IRL, just to pist off those poor chaps in their M5, AMG-Mercs and porsches and lambos and..

of course, you can exclude Suzuki Escudo.. that thing was not meant to drive on tarmac, and it kinda shows.. 👎 :yuck:

Yeah, I kinda figured that my outrageous front tyre wear was down to the massive understeer that I'd managed to impose on myself with my shoddy setup.

I can't wait to try this setup out on El Capitan, which is my favourite course by far.

yeah, it's a nice piece of track, I'm sure that if you take care with the throttle, your ZZ will handle it great. and warning: this car tends to oversteer in tight bends, atleast with my settings.. but, I prefer oversteer to understeer. I suggest you should try your own ASM/TCS settings as well to find out if they fit better to your driving style. have fun :)

Hi mate like you i love this car, I put the suspension back to semi(what it came with) and use the following
spring rate F B ride F B camber F B damper F R
15.7 14.8 72 73 1 .4 5 5
turn down the driving aids as well try 7 7 3(or4 if its too much).

:)
