Looking for some low 121 guys to help me get more consistent in this corner. I've hit this turn at 86-87 a couple times now but I can't consistently hit this corner. I understand we are pushing the limit on this corner and slapping the outside of the kink is going to happen but I am all over the place on this turn.

my turn in point is all over the place, my breaking is all over the place my acceleration point is all over the place. This is leading to me losing time on 9 because my breaking point changes so much and it's driving me nuts.

I'd much rather hit it at 80 consistently so I can work on pushing it harder than 1 out of 20 times hitting it near 90 and freaking out in 9. I just can't get my rhythm.

Thinking from memory but haven't done the track in a while...

Can't remember who I was watching, but it's one of the top guys overall. Basically you want to straddle the kerb on the far right when approaching the turn. (left wheel, kerb, right wheel) Then, do 100% braking right when you meet the start of the kerb and hold it until right before or at the next meter marker (if I remember correctly) then release the brakes completely or down to like 10%, turn the wheel and when it feels right hit the accelerator.

I'm not perfect at this turn, but doing this has made me more consistent through it with competitive speed. Watching some of the top guys ghost replays in bumper cam view will definitely help you see when and where you need to brake, turn in, and accelerate.

Kris is who showed me (with his ghost) how to do the kink.

Brake soon and hard. you should be able to get on the power before hitting the first apex (the pointy wall on the left). so brake very early. Know when to let go of the brakes by looking at the inside wall and aiming for the point/apex.

The trick is getting on the power early and hitting both apexes/ wall points

Then you just have to completely relearn the next turn because you'll be going so much faster! :)

This 👍

I was able to find some consistency with this, I was concentrating so hard on my breaking that I wasn't even looking at my apex. Seems silly now but thanks for pointing this out, I was staring at the curbing instead of my apex lol.

You're welcome, and yea I always have to remind myself to look at the apex. it makes a world of difference

This corner is still driving me nuts.

I've looked at the top guys and up to that corner, I'm consistently right with them until I hit that left hander. Then:
1. I slow down too much or wait too long to nail the throttle.
2. I nick the apex wall.
3. I nick the curbing at the apex and I spin.
4. The car pushes badly at entry and I crash.
5. I nick the wall to the right at exit.
6. I nick the curbing to the right at apex and it pulls me into the wall.

I've looked at the top vids over and over again and for once, it's not helping. Not sure what else I can do.

Not sure if this will help, but I've been able to improve my consistency at this corner by using Kris's replay. Hit the brakes hard right at the curb as you straddle it, but dont turn. If I remember correctly, I don't turn until I come off the brakes, and when I do turn its smooth rather than jerking the car into a slide. I also find myself playing with the throttle just before hitting the first apex curb depending on the cars trajectory.

👍👍

This is a good approach. I thought I could settle with my .526, but with everyone in the low 1:21's, I'm feeling slow so I'll have to post a .3 or something.

Thanks! I'm a little more consistent now.

And by consistent, I mean, I get the corner right about 1 out of 6 times instead of 1 in 10.

...regarding that, is it best to leave the car in 4th gear or 3rd? which is faster?

Has anyone seen any video on something I heard about, some how people are bouncing off the wall and reflecting through 7 and 8 to redirect them through both turns.

Now now Fix, in a perfect world we would all be doing this for real by driving real cars but this is still a video game and I thought that it might be interesting to look at something I had heard about. Don't let the thin air at the top distort the reality of what were talking about.

lol @ thin air.

You probably heard it from me when I said I was going to do it to piss people off even more. Hitting the wall wont help much if you can't already do fast times, that's for sure. It takes practice to do it too so I doubt anyone will try that instead of just getting better the normal way

Edit: I was showing my dad my replay and MAN I get close to those walls! (but no touchy :D )

I think he's referring to the wall coming into turn 1. It doesnt void your time as long as you don't slam into it (which would destroy your speed anyway). I grazed it a couple times by accident and it did speed me up thru that corner....sorta...basically gave me a better entry speed but the exit speed was lacking as a result. Practice would definitely help with that but I wouldnt recommend practicing that...

Plus hitting the wall usually voids your time. At least it did for me when I did it... by accident.

Since this is a video game there are exploits and to go for the obvious answer " no it doesn't." The stuff I'm playing w/ is so funny I just can't resist my self, being an ex moto-x burm blaster I am intrigued by the possibilities :)

There was a time when this was thought that it wasn't fast either....lol

I got better at this corner today but only got my time down to a 1:21.85. What helped me is to be more deliberate with the throttle instead of mashing it since that gets me in trouble if I hit the rumble strips.

Now I have to relearn the hard left at the end of the back straight since I can carry a bit more speed.

Its sick how you get through that kink. Thats something that happens to me like once every 100 attempts, and when it does happen you just pray that you dont mess up the rest of the lap. You know whats crazy, you can get a 1:20.950 if you stayed in 3rd for the T1/2. I have been up on your ghost by .200, my best first sector time is a x.858. You absolutely crush me on turn 9 though, and you get another .100 on me from having the extra speed going into the last section.

I know, I can get turn 1 much better too, but doing that AND getting the rest of the lap right is obviously a bitch.

Beat my time and I'll do it though :D

That's how it is now, beat it and I'll match it, I'm sick of doing laps lol

Man I wish I could, believe me Ive tried. Even if I get up on you in the first sector you are always a car length ahead of me by the end of the straight because of how ridiculously well you take the kink.

Kris took it just as well too, in fact I was behind him on that long straight. Got him on the last 2 corners.

But yea I agree that kink was nice lol

I just about nailed this turn tonight. Could run faster than my ghost up to this point, then couldn't keep up. Needless to say the right side of my car is toast.

This seems to be the only turn giving me fits in the whole of round 1. I am where I want to be standings wise this round so Im not going to fret over it too much. I wonder what round two has in store... Im feeling Madrid, Monza, Nur GP.
