I need help finding a website/company/product/etc for a 17" widescreen LCD/TV that displays progressive scan, HDTV compatible, has component video in, audio out, possibly fm tuner built-in, has less than a 16ms response (preferably better), must be widescreen, and capable of displaying 480p/1080i. Any help is appreciated.

You sure aren't asking for much, are you?

No flames for these suggestions. This is just to get the ball rolling.

It's not 17 inches, but I'd recommend the 21 inch widescreen Dell 2005FPW. I have one and it is one awesome monitor, with DVI, S-Video, and composite inputs so you can hook your gaming console directly into it.

Appreciate the help guys. That dell has a slow 25ms response according to a couple of websites I found. Looks like that second link for the Philips will be the one. I need something small that can be easily transported in the back of a backpack on a daily basis. Thanks again.

If you can wait a few weeks, I'd suggest this one: Dell 2405. A step up in size from the one Jordan noted, and it meets your speed requirement.

Additional Review

Expected cost: $1200

IF I could convince the Ms. or my boss, I'd be working on one.

Thanks for the info about the Dell. I don't think it would fit into a backpack though. So that rules that out. It looks like a great display if you are just going to leave it on your desk at home.

Oh man, Alex - I wish I hadn't seen your post!!! :ill: I gotta have it!

I'm not quite sure where you got your info, but that is incorrect. It has a 12ms response time. Searching around confirmed this from several other credible sources. Regardless, I also have a 19'' Dell UltraSharp 1905FP with a very respectable 20ms response time, and let me say this: the widescreen model's faster speed is VERY noticable when switching between monitors. And I'm very finicky when it comes to monitor screens...

The Ms. has pretty much ruled it out, but I'm still working on my boss.

My current ploy is to split the cost of the monitor. Then either he buys it over time, or I buy it over time.

Neither one of us really want to shell out the cash for it, but that might be an economical solution.
