Need to identify book

Well the book is about a teenager who did not pass his permit test(or was it driving license?) and he told his friends that he did. So two friends of his wanted him to drive for them in his (It was either his or dad's) 60's-70's Cadillac. From what I know the book is fiction.

Thanks for any book suggestions. This book been on my mind since months ago.
