A while ago, my GT6 started doing odd things.

Driving around London it wouldn't load straight away, I put it down to connection and left it, however recently it has started getting more frequent over many more rooms, both UK and All regions rooms. It doesn't do it on any other track I've been on, so this one has me stumped.

I am wondering if this is due to disc condition (as for a few months it was in my brother's room meaning it wasnt handled with care) or is it something else?

I don't think you should replace the disc, as there are probably accessible services that resurface discs nearby. Unless you live in the desert.

If I ever needed a new GT6 disc, I would just download it from PSN instead. Not having to change discs to change games is really nice.

Have you tried the game on a different PS3? Have you tried reinstalling it? Although if the disc really is broken, it might get worse if you try to reinstall from that broken disc.

I'll have a look, but I don't think there is anywhere near me.

Haven't had a chance to try on another PS3, and no to reinstalling it.

I am rebuilding the database to see if this helps though.

That might be the HDD.. not the game disc.
I figured, just wanted to know what people recommended.

If you think it's the disc condition, you may want to look up how to resurface a CD on Google. Basically, you polish the scratches out of the plastic. This works because what you're polishing (and what gets scratched) is actually just a clear sheet of plastic, the information that the laser reads is on the underside of the label.

Give it a go, you cannot make things any worse. Brasso is a common thing to use, but you can use any of a variety of fine polishing compounds. Again, Google is your friend, make sure you read up on what you're doing before you do it.

Maybe it is a disc (scratches, dirty disc> clean disc with soft cloth...) or worse , PS3 reader is getting worn out.

Since digital version is 19€/$... I'd advice going digital instead getting new disc or second hand one.It will spare your optical drive (for other games) ,especially if you play GT daily.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I didn't need a new disc after all.

I basically followed this guide and tried it over 45 laps. No problems in that time, so I guess it worked.

It also seems to have sped up other games such as GTA V, and it took less than 10 minutes. It's a really good thing to do, I think and I recommend it.

Any questions drop a PM, I'm gonna be asking for this thread to be locked.
