I'm looking for a friendly individual with the following criteria:

1. Must have a PS2 and GT3.
2. Must have the ability to capture at least screenshots, possibly video (most likely not).
3. Must be able to follow directions, and to take 'orders'. ;)
4. Must be willing to work for free. :p

I'm needing this person for a special project, hopefully coming soon to GTP. Please PM me if you want more information, or catch me on IM (MSN:altf8designs@hotmail.com, ICQ:34628412, AOL:altf82000). The person(s) will get full credit for everything they contribute, so don't worry about that.

I don't want to let out too many details yet, so please don't ask me questions here.

Would this happen to be if i could take photos and scan them? Or having a video card? Because i can get either within the end of January.

Video capture, Dodge. I need very high-quality captures right from the PS2 source.

Ahem!
Link/Sig/videos.

Although I dont think my PC has enough grunt to capture high res videos. Well I dont mind capturing stuff for free.

Ykno AltF8... I really don't think its possible to capture nice resolution stuff direct from PS2, even with the best video cable.
I'm not sure about this, but I learned that video(colour) travels in Frequencies, and, the smaller the cable is, the easier it is for the frequency to be disrupted, making the colour strange.

If you really wish to be able to capture direct from PS2 to PC AND at a High FPS rate AND with good colour quality, I do suggest you get a Mac or...... go to a TV station and rent their equipment for a short while...
Because I'm highly doubting that you can capture PS2 video nicely and at a good FPS....

edit: How "high-quality" do you want it to be? certain FPS? certain Pixels?

I'm not really looking for videos. That might be nice to have in the future, but at this point, I'm only looking for screens.

By high-quality, I mean full 640x480, minimal compression, de-interlaced images captured from the source. Not by pointing a digital camera at a TV and calling that a screen shot.

Oh...and it needs to be someone with the US release of GT3. Sorry. :(

Sorry, it's for consistency. Maybe eventually we can...delve into the UK version at some point. :)

It's a secret. Look for an announcement around the time GTP5 is released.

;)

Confound you and your secrets!

Hmph.

Anyway im sure whatever it is, it should be interesting. Could GTC be included with your secret project maybe?

Just a query.

You know, that's a very interesting idea.

If you've got some time, PM me to talk. Or IM me on one of the above mediums.

Hey, i could do some GTC screens... :) Be Race Idiots assistant....;) Btw, what video card should i buy RI, could you PM me with info for it?

Im not sure if it will work cause i think with tuner cards they hook up directly to your cable box but since i dont think it will work you could get pick up a ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 or 8500 Pro 128 MG depending on what your looking to spend which has a Video Capture card so you can get whatver you hook up to the TV onto your video card. Whereas you will be able to take some really nice pictures and possibly do some enhancing using Adobe Photoshop.

ATI.com

I have an ATI All-In-Wonder Pro 128. The key is, I also have a GeForce4 Ti 4600 that I'm not willing to part with just to do captures. ;)

I'm trying to get both to work in the machine at the same time, so we'll see where that leads me.

We have a machine here at work with five cards in it. It's running five monitors. ;)

:|
ONE COMPUTER??????
wow..... must be tricked... lol too bad i don't understand how on earth is possible........ unless..... you actually plug a monitor / card.... >< my poor brain is suffering again! ><

It's not that bad really. You need Win98 or better (I don't think 95 has multiple monitor support).

The PC we used has one AGP slot and 4 PCI slots. We used one AGP card and four PCI cards. Windows will automatically allow you to extend your desktop onto two or more monitors. Pretty slick really.

Wow........
imagine playing a multiplayer game with 5 different keyboards like that too..... lol that be.. sick.. but i don't think its possible.. ><

Well, if Steel Battalion ever come out for the PC, it would need more than 2 keyboards.

Anyways, I want to get into capturing screenshots because I'm starting an online GT Magazine. I need a good inexpensive card that will allow me to do this.

Thanx in advance.

And AltF8, hit me up sometime on aim at Spud Mastah

Thats crazy why would you want to piggy back two of the best cards out there. Radeon is definitley better :) screw the G-Poop. The last time i piggy backed a card was when i had the Creative Annilator GeForce Pro piggybacked on a Voodoo 3 which rocked for the time. Unless your looking to just have more than one monitor.

Who's piggy-backing cards? The last time I did that was with a Real3D Starfighter AGP and a 12MB Voodoo 2.

Oh, and on the Radeon/GeForce issue - Radeon currently holds the top spot. But, of the top 10 cards, 7 are GeForce, last I knew.
