Sorry if this has been asked but I couldn’t see a thread.

Whilst playing online in the Sports section on daily races etc… Ive found that within the last week or so my connection signal bar is dropping to the red one bar symbol. I start the race and its full green 5 bars and then after a minute or two it drops to red and will stay there all race. I don’t have any issues with lag or anything, and i do find sometimes that one car start to stutter and skip along the track, but every other car is smooth.
Should I be worried my connection status symbol is showing red 1 bar? My internet connection is 1gbps. PS5 console connected via 5g mesh wifi with hub in the same room. NAT is type 1. Nothing has changed in the home within the last two weeks so I’m not sure why my connection has started showing the red 1 bar network sysmbol

Say what? NAT Type 1 means the console is directly connected to the internet with no router in-between - and no NAT actually occurs (Network Address Translation - the router works out to which device inbound traffic should go, and which device outbound traffic has come from).

Avoid WiFi. If the hub is in the same room, run a patch cable between them. Also:

Anyone else finding there connection is showing a red connection bar when racing? I don’t if this is an issue for others when racing me or not? I have no problems when racing, no lag or anything. I was in a race with a YTer who had live streamed the race so I found his channel and watched it back and when I overtook his car, my car looked normal and wasn’t jerking around the screen.
I don’t have any issues with F1 2021 when I race online there, just seems to be GT7.
Do I carry on racing in sport mode with it on 1 red bar?

Last few weeks my connection symbol has been always showing as 1 red connection when on online racing. It was never like this until recently.
I have been through the PS5 settings, my router settings and found over wifi my PS5 had switched to the 2.4 ghz. I’m now on 5ghz done another race and still on 1 red connection. I’ve now ran a Cat6 cable from my router to the PS5 and still I’m on 1 red network symbol.
Internet speeds on my PS5 via LAN are 691mbps download and upload is 38mbps. My ISP speeds are 1gbps down and 100mbps up.

Mine is lower in general also but I have no issue with my internet or connection. Just another GT7 thing.
No issues in race yet either.

Yes same here. In general it is one bar lower than GT Sport was, and I get more frequent drops to one or two bars.
But for no apparent reason.
When it happens, I rarely occur any more lag than before, and disconnects mostly happen before the race starts as other people. I'm connected via LAN so WiFi is not the issue.

Thanks. Guessing its a game issue and maybe nothing to worry about.…? Didn’t have GTS so not able to compare.
Like you the only issues I run into are before the race. During racing I have no issues.

Back to more network problems?

I'm trying to do the Porsche Challenge with my network showing full green bars and slot 1 froze just before the start of the race, and now I'm in slot 2 and it looks like it froze up right after warm up. This is BS.


EDIT: Slot 2 unfroze and let us do Q'ing....then froze again right at race start like slot 1 did. Is it possible all 3 slots will freeze tonight I wonder? Still BS

Not red for me but orange and before was always green. I'm suffering a lot during races as cars jumping from side to side make it impossible to overtake without crashing into someone..

As to my post, that you quoted I think they were 2 issues going on with that
1. Game was still new and I didn’t realise the game was unstable and it turned out others having same issue
2. I have a mesh wifi system, with a single wifi name and I found my PS5 was jumping back on the 2.4ghz signal even though my router is like a few meters away. Few setting changes within the mesh fixed my issue. Runs now on it own channel with gaming QoS and its perfect.

I have noticed with the new 1.19 update the game is not as stable again.

Slot 3 seemed to be working OK until race start. Then it was stuck at the grid without the start lights coming on for about 30 seconds. Then they came on, counted down and went out, I started as I would normal and it gave me a jump start penalty because it hiccup'd again just as the lights went out......BS
