It's difficult to get up close. Why would they plant such a hard to notice object up there? The irony is that it is also in plain sight and sticks out like a sore thumb when you actually
look at it. Even in replay mode certain panned shots panned across it quite visibly. It also appears on different cameras, of course, but some of the immovable ones will have it in plain sight.
There could be a breakout section - who has the time to walk miles around it?

Also noticeable while racing is that the sun glints off it at certain points as if to signal its location.
I doubt Jenkins would be hanging out with Blofeld. Too bald.
