Never buying a car

This has been edited because I said something dumb, and realized I needed to change it.

that is impossible! especially because of the manufacturer's events

As far as I can tell, only one care needs to be purchased, some kind of Mercedes. But I am currently working on this, so am not 100% sure.

you also need to buy a speed 6 and the lotus motorsport elise ;)

You can win the Lotus Elise in the European Championship, what do I need the Speed 6 for again?

the elise you win in the european championship is the 190 which doesn't stand a chance against the motorsport , and as for the speed 6 you can only win it in the tuscan challenge and you need to use the tuscan to win it , and hence this is why you need to buy these cars

sorry i'm wrong about the elise , i remember doing this race and was not allowed to use a motorsport and yet there was one on the field with me so i am wrong here but i stand on the tuscan ;)

Well, my original challenge was to not spend any money at all. I realize that this is completely impossible. However, my revised challenge was to see who could spend the least amount of money (credits) to win the game. So there is no limit as to what cars you can and can not purchase, or what upgrades you can or can not make. But the goal is to acheive 100% completion by spending the least amount of money.

Revision: 100% of the simulation-mode events. The arcade doesn't matter because you don't have to have a garadge at all to win everything in that mode.

Once again, I'm going to start this myself as soon as I finish the game the first time.

Well that challenge sounds interesting, but my original goal was to win the game without purchasing a car. I can see that that won't be possible, but I am not going to purchase any cars until the very end, when it becomes a necessity. I am fully modding every car I race, and some that I am not simply because I can. The thing is, I am not selling any of the cars that I win, so the only source of income for tuning, oil changes etc. is from the prize money won, which isn't much of a restriction because you can win lots of cash.

Exactly. I have over 9 million dollars. What's the point in not selling cars? What's the point in selling cars, for that matter ...

I think writing down every time you spend money (in great detail) and then making it a competition would be loads of fun. -MOST- of the races you will have a car good enough to win without modifing it. If you can shoot up to the Super Speedway Endurance and win the F1 car, you've just got the rocket you need to win ~50% of all the races. And it doesn't take much to win that enduro ... Then with your F1 you win cars for the races that you can't enter the F1 in, like the FF and 4WD challenges. Hopefully you can get GT class cars and won't have to spend money modifing them.

Truly, it would not take much to do exactly what you described. All gold in A liscense, win everything the Rx8 can win-purchase super slick tires, win Enduro until you get F1. Effefctively game over with out spending more than 20,000 dollars-not counting those specialty cars that were discussed. With the F1 you can win the cars needed to win everything else, and if you get lucky the F1 is easy to obtain.

That's my plan. It will probably be a couple more weeks before I can even get started on that. I haven't finished the game quite yet. I have the time trials and the Formula GT Championship left to go.

Anywho, I'm off to bed. Nice talking with you, kpwracecrew. And welcome to GTPlanet (:

Thanks, hope you get lots of sleep. It is 3:21 (PM) here (you're already in bed) and I am still working on a little essay on Cortes. Oh well.
