Never ending races?

Hey i am fairly sad atm, i just completed 24 hours lemans a-spec, and at the end of the race the game never showed a win screen.. it just sat there with my car driving around the track..

This happened to me once before but i figured it was a fluke, now i am pissed off.
What do i do?
Is ps3 broke?
Am i a failure?
Why does God hate me?

-note i even tried waiting for the other cars to catch up, i lapped a couple times, and i waited for 6 hours, just unplugged my ps3 from wall.
 
argh, that´s really sad. any other race but the 24h! ..

well how old is your ps3?
how long was it turned on before the 24h race?
did other games freeze or smtgh on your ps3 before?
 
Did you actually finish your last lap? The race doesn't instantly end at the 24' mark, it finishes after you complete the lap you were on when it dinged 24 hours (not sure what you mean by "tried waiting for the other cars to catch up, i lapped a couple times")

i think he means he finished and the computer took over the wheel but nothing happened past that.

Same happened to me but on b-spec race on beginner (cant remember which one) but it wasnt that bad, i just restarted the game.
 
Feel for you mate same thing happened to me once, not on such a grand scale, was grinding the turbo challenge in Expert or Professional Aspec (cant remember which one) did a whole hour of it and lost it all. Don't worry your PS3 is not broken but it is a game glitch that i think happens when your ps3 is a) either on too long or b) GT5 has an issue.
 
Damn...that is terrible. I was thinking of trying the 24 hour race soon, but now I'm scared of wasting so much time.
 
Perhaps in the upcoming update(18th February) they'll add a save-mid-race feature,so wait until then to try the endurance races.
 
This has happened two me twice now, i think it mit be to do with being signed into playstation network, as it only happened when i was signed in. as when returning to gt life screen from doing a race, sometimes it wont load up till i have signed out, plus i have noticed that loading times are better when i am not signed into playstation network.
 
This exact thing happened to me 3 times already;with an a-spec 24h race and 2 times with a 200 laps race.When I start the game I sometimes get an error saying that I should check my disc for damage.I don't know if it's a bug because I can't see any kind of damage on the disc.
The last time it happened I got so mad that I threw my copy in the garbage.Going to buy a new copy tomorrow and I hope I never encounter that problem again.I'm almost lvl 40 a-spec and will be getting the platinum trophy very soon(if it wasn't for that bug/problem I would of had the trophy already:mad:)
