I don't know FF very well so I can't help but Hondas are like a black art. Very hard to get a hood tune off someone.
From my little experience in FF (I do FR MR and AWD) I can give a base tune
(if you try this tune please use another sheet or right down your previous one)
Trans:
Reset default
Max slider left
Final gear left until top speed I'm corner reads 167mph (if you cant get that reset trans slide final right a bit, then max left and final left again)
1st gear left
2nd gear leave as
3rd 3/4 right
4th full right
5th full right
6 full right
(only because I doubt you will need it, if so you'll get the small boost at the end)
LSD: 40 20 5
Suspension
Height: f min r max
Rates: f max r mid-high
Dampers: f min r max
Dampers: f min r max
Anti roll: leave as
Camber I don't use any
Toe: f 0.20 r 0.20

I just tryed tuning one of these EK's for the first time my self and damn you are right with what you say here

I tryed the basic tune you put up but it wasnt very good in my opinion especialy the gears 1st gear was way to short just hit the revlimiter almost immediately, the suspesnion seemed ok, but I think you already knew that the tune you put was just very basic so im not bashing you on that.
I got a best 1/4 mile time of 12.128 @ 126mph with my tune which I will post below (very slow)
Compared to the best time posted here also the only time posted for the 97 EK

I'm clueless as to how he got his to go so fast.
Heres my tune. (borrowed some of your settings for the suspension Viperbeatsvette hope you dont mind)
Transmission:
Set Final Gear to 3.800
Set Max Speed to 112(mph)
Re-Set Final Gear to 3.000
1st - 4.401 But I didnt use it I launched in 2nd
2nd - 3.520
3rd - 2.920
4th - 2.420
5th - 1.980
6th - 1.688
Suspension:
Height -20F +45R
Spring 15.5F 7.5R
Dampers 10F - 1R
Dampers 1F - 10R
Antiroll bars 1F -7R
Camber 0F - 0R
Toe 0F - 0R
I couldn't get mine to laucn in 1st gear without either boging down and being slow off the line with the rest of the gears being far too long and spaced out, or way to short and bouncing off the limiter with huge delay when shifting into 2nd
So mine is tuned to launch in 2nd gear, Quick shift into 3rd just before you bounce off the limiter, sit in 3rd with tonnes of wheelspin untill you get to 69-71mph then shift to 4th and continue to shift as normal right before the limiter and it should do consistant high 12.1's and a low 12.2's on a bad run.
I know this tune is pretty aweful and is slow as hell and there are much faster EK's but I dont know how they do it. if you cant view the link to the other forum with the fast EK time he got a:

Max G of 0.79
So my tune is very, very slow but I hope it helps and maybe some honda FF guru will come in here and explain a few things but I doubt that
